SHINee (샤이니) Seasons Greetings Unboxing

shinee seasons greetings

It’s here! It’s here! It’s finally here! My Season’s Greetings packages have finally begun to arrive, and have made their way to my little K-Pop crazy hands. I just got in the mail today the SHINee Season’s Greeting Package for 2018. Some would say it is a bit pricey for a planner, but if you are like me, and are the kind of person who usually buys an expensive planner anyways (I usually like ones with all the bells and whistles because I use them throughout the whole year), then this might be the way to go, as you can get a celebrity that you love on it to make it even more worth opening the pages and writing down your plan for the day.

I do a lot of my album shopping on Music Plaza LA. Additionally, if you have never used Music Plaza before, this link will get you an extra 5% off of your first purchase!

You can also order a copy of the album from an eBay, as they typically have good prices. Plus, with eBay, you can save a little bit of money by using the E-Bates extension on your browser, as it will save you 2% on all album purchases, which definitely adds up.

What is E-Bates?

E-Bates is a cashback site that gives you money for purchases you may have already made. They even have an extension for multiple browsers so when you go to a website that uses Ebates, it will automatically pop up the cashback button to make sure you are saving money. I use this all the time, and I got over 80$ back from them for purchases I was going to make anyway. That’s about 3 more albums I can buy!

If you’ve never used EBates before, you can use this link to get $10 when making a qualified purchase of $25 when using EBates. You will also get whatever percent cashback is being offered from the site you are purchasing from.  Sephora, typically has 4% cashback, through here. Sokoglam typically has 3%. These percentages Many other major retailers are on there as well.

Things to Know about this Season’s Greetings:

  • Each month of the planner has 4 sections:
    • Calendar
    • Weekly Planner
    • Day Planner
    • Free Notes
  • Each layout I’ve discovered is really good for different purposes(because this one I am using):
    • The Calendar I just quickly mark important dates on (ex. music releases).
    • The weekly view I use for a rough overview of things that I have going on, so for the blog, it gives me a quick look at all posts that should go out that week so I can more easily visualize what I can and cannot move around.
    • In the daily view, I make more lists of things that I plan or need to do on a particular day. I also note on it what I learned that day in my Korean studies, what posts I wrote, and what all I did, so I can easily look back and see what I did on XYZ date.
    • The free notes section I use to keep track of overall things, like shipments I anticipate arriving, what blog posts I expect to write soon, as well as keeping a list of all of the things that I am ready to write posts on because the photos are already taken and edited.
  • As there are only 5 members in SHINee, and there are 12 months in the year, there are 2 months in here that have all of the members in it: January and July. Taemin has December and June, Minho has November and May, Key has October and April,  Jonghyun has September and March, and Onew has August and February
  • The poster for that month will feature the same member as the book, as will the punch out photocard
  • Each monthly book has a full month planer, followed by a weekly planner, a day-to-day planner, and a notes section.
  • Each section of the little planner has a big picture of the member who is featured that month.
  • Each little book is the perfect size to fit in your bag, and it isn’t super thick, so it won’t weigh your bag down like so many other planners.
  • The covers of each month’s book are not hardcovers, they are softback, so they can get bent.

K-Points: 652/5

I got excited when I saw this got here, and it is almost too pretty to use. I love that it is the gorgeous mint color, and I love how all of the months are separated because then I will not be carrying one massive planner for the whole year, instead, I will be carrying MAX two books at once, as we near the end of one month, and get to the beginning of another. Thankfully, I do have a second season’s greetings coming in the mail that I ordered after Jonghyun’s passing just in case I decided not to use this one, and that chance still exists that this will not be used, and I will use the other one instead.

So this is not a 500 mg purchase, cause I didn’t cry, or hyperventilate when I got it, but it is 400 mg. The packaging is great, the photos are beautiful inside, and it slightly hurts my heart to use it because SHINee is precious to me, especially after what happened with Jonghyun. *Sheds a tear* Do you need it in your collection? Not. Is it a great addition that might motivate you to plan your life out? 그럼!

Go for it if you feel like it, K-Nuggets, you won’t regret it.

사랑합니다!
