Twice Fancy You Review

twice fancy

I know, you all have been waiting awhile for me to publish this. Well, it’s finally coming your way while I am sitting in a Starbucks in LA waiting for my cousin’s plane to land. I was really excited for Twice Fancy You, when I heard it was coming out, and I’m finally going to give you all my thoughts, despite how delayed they are.

I ordered a copy of the album from Music Plaza in LA. They are certified of the Gaon and Hanteo charts. This is a link to the exact one I’ve ordered. I got my copy for 19.99 plus shipping. If you want a 5% discount, you can use this link here.

You can also get a copy of of EBay. I found one here for 23.00, plus free shipping. If you are not in the US, this may prove to be cheaper than Music Plaza. Plus, with eBay, you can save a little bit of money by using the E-Bates extension on your browser, as it will save you 2% on all album purchases, which definitely adds up.

What is E-Bates?

E-Bates is a cashback site that gives you money for purchases you may have already made. They even have an extension for multiple browsers so when you go to a website that uses Ebates, it will automatically pop up the cashback button to make sure you are saving money. I use this all the time, and I got over 80$ back from them for purchases I was going to make anyway. That’s about 3 more albums I can buy!

If you’ve never used EBates before, you can use this link to get $10 when making a qualified purchase of $25 when using EBates. You will also get whatever percent cashback is being offered from the site you are purchasing from.  Sephora, typically has 4% cashback, through here. Sokoglam typically has 3%. These percentages Many other major retailers are on there as well.

Can I get it on Amazon?

Yes! You can pick up a copy using this link here for about 23 dollars (not as good of a deal), with free shipping if you have Amazon Prime.

If you don’t have Amazon Prime, you can get a 30-day free trial using this link here. I will not lie, the free 2-day shipping, plus all of the free music and videos are totally worth it. I also now use it for books for my Kindle Paper White too, and it is honestly a life saver. They have a program called Kindle Unlimited where you can check out 10 books at a time, read them, and put them back in the Kindle library. The program cost $7.99 a month, and you get the first 30 days for free with this link.

How do I read this post?

I recommend that you put the album on in the background, and read through it while listening to the track that I am talking about. It will help you understand what parts of the music I’m referring to when I talk about different instruments and different vocal parts. This is what I recommend for all of my song reviews.

Twice Fancy You Track By Track:

Fancy

Per usual, I already reacted to this track over on my YouTube channel. You can watch it here:

I have not been able to get this song out of my head since I heard it the first time. It is so stinking catchy! I’m actually slightly obsessed with this track. I love the bass guitar in the track, as well as the beat. It has a slightly tropical sound to it, but it also feels like it popped out of a disco.

This track for me is on the same level of catchiness as “Likey“, which still gets stuck in my head with relative frequency. More than anything, I think my favorite thing about Twice, and this track especially is how positive and happy this track is. You cannot help but smile when you listen to the track, or watch the music video. Since this track is obviously always stuck in my head, it did make it into all of my playlists. I may have also sang this song to one of my friends at a very loud volume… in public.

Stuck in My Head

Of course, the next track is named after what the last track has done to me! This track is about when a person gets, well, stuck in your head and you cannot stop thinking about them. This time though, it’s one of those love affairs that is slightly more like a war zone. They’re in the game phase, and the way they are singing the track really exemplifies that. This track has so much soul to it, and they are singing it as if they are completely consumed with the game they are playing.

I love the slides, the power notes, the high descants. Everything about the vocals on this track makes me live. Actually to a certain extent, this track has a RBB vibe to it. I will say, I like this track far more than RBB. It has a better flow too it, and more ups and downs. I love the saxophones and the bass guitar line in this track as well. It feels very funky. Great job girls!

Girls Like Us

I love the cute little piano chords in the beginning of the track. They remind me a bit of Daya’s Hide Away because the chord progression is identical. I love how this track is about chasing dreams and finding your own happiness. It’s basically a girl power track. We need more of those in this world.

I do really like how this track has more of a retro feel to it. It transports you back to an earlier era, while still maintaining a modern feel through the use of percussion and synth chords here and there. On top of that, I love the echoing whistle sounds that they added to the track. Overall, this is a really nice song. They ladies really sing some amazing vocals throughout the track, especially in the chorus. I think it gives them a chance to let their vocals shine.

Hot

So I really like the Doo-wop feel to this track. The deep base “doo”s contrast nicely with the snaps at the beginning of the track. The percussion on this track is quite light, and I’m a fan. Once you get into the verse, I love how percussive the singing is. It adds a bit of flair to the track and makes it far more interesting than I initially anticipated.

My favorite part of this track has to be the pre-chorus because it really allows the vocalists to show of vocal runs and how truly talented the vocalists are. It reminds you that Twice is far more than just the cute concept than you initially see. More importantly, it is nice to see Twice singing songs about how great and hot they are. Let’s be real. It’s the truth. They’re gorgeous women, and men should be chasing them, just like this song talks about.

Turn It Up

So I love how this song starts with just an acoustic guitar before breaking it down with a really good beat, and an even better bass guitar. The bass guitar and electric guitar add such a nice funk feel to the track. Overall, this song is a lot of fun and all about have an awesome night out on the town.

As for the vocals, They’re really solid and have a lot of soul to them, which is what is important for a track of this nature. This is one of those tracks that makes you want to break it down on the dance floor. It’s lots of fun, and yet again, I love how it is a track just about having a blast with yourself, or with your friends.

Strawberry

I’m not going to lie, this track is completely different from something I expect from TWICE. It’s light, but also slightly quirky. The instrumentation is very different from any other track on this song. Most likely, that’s because this track is all about that moment when a hot guy notices you for the first time. Let’s be real, most of us feel really awkward in that moment, and our face gets all red.

Overall, this track is really cute. I think the instrumentation really matches what the song is about. It’s sweet and light. It encapsulates the emotion of what happens when it is love at first sight. You feel like you are off the ground. I approve girls.

K-Points: 27/5

Twice “Fancy You” was actually really good and I feel like we are finally beginning to get grown-up Twice. This album had a mature feel and felt more modern than anything else they have released. I am so excited to hear how their music continues to evolve.

So should you get yourself a copy of this album? I personally think it is worth it. The promotions for this album have fantastic albums, and the music is also really good. Should you stream it? Well, If I told you that Fancy has basically been played on repeat while I wait for my album copy to get here, would that answer that question? I think you should all binge listen to this album.

Am I the only one who thinks Fancy is probably the best single form Twice to date? Which one is your favorite, K-Nuggets? Let me know in the comments below!

사랑합니다!
