Torriden Cellmazing Centella Ampoule Review

I am always looking for formulas that are calming and can help get rid ofmy redness. So, when I saw that Torriden, a brand that I enjoy for its hydrating products had a Centella line, I knew I needed to try at least one product from the line. So, the Torriden Cellmazing Centella Ampoule made its way into my routing. Keep reading to learn more about the product, the Koreans and my thoughts, and where you can find one yourself.

Things to know about Torriden Cellmazing Centella Ampoule :

This product is formulated with the following ingredients that are good for your skin:
  • Centella Asiatica Extract is an incredibly well-known ingredient in K-Beauty for its hydrating and anti-inflammatory properties. It’s an ingredient that is excellent for acne-prone and damaged skin. Plus, since it is combined with hyaluronic acid in this formula, it boosts its hydrating properties.
  • Glycerin is an ingredient in many skincare formulas that hydrates the skin by attracting other water particles to the deeper layers of the skin.
  • Betaine is an ingredient that aids the skin with adjusting to changes in moisturization. It also can help with uneven skin tone as shown in new studies.
  • Allantoin is a moisturizer and exfoliant. If you are known to have dry and itchy skin, this ingredient is perfect for you. This ingredient can also help heal injured skin as it is an ingredient that is found in chamomile and beets.
  • Panthenol also known as provitamin B5, is an excellent moisturizer that also has anti-inflammatory properties. A provitamin is the thing that comes before the vitamin and can convert easily into the vitamin. In this scenario, that vitamin is B5, also known as pantothenic acid.
This product is formulated with the following ingredients that are “bad”* for your skin:
  • There is nothing in this formula that is a known skin irritant or could cause issues for sensitive skin
Who is this product good for?
  • Those with redness
  • Those with acne-prone skin

K-Points: 6/10

So, for beauty reviews, unlike my album unboxings, I will be much harsher on because this can directly impact your health, where buying K-Pop albums does not. It just impacts your wallet. As such, all of my beauty reviews will be out of 10 points. I will not be going over that number.

This line was retired at some point in 2022, so this product is unavailable for purchase anymore. That being said, I understand why. In comparison to all of the other Centella Ampoules, this one doesn’t compare – especially to the Skin1004 Madagascar Centella Ampoule which I have gone through at least 10 bottles of. That being said, it was a nice product, although it smelled a bit chemically. I also don’t think it had the best effects on my skin – especially in comparison to other ampoules

What are the Koreans saying?

I was digging through reviews on 화해 (Hwahae)**, a Korean skincare app that lists out the ingredients of products from many brands for people to look through as well as post reviews. This product has a 4.41 out of 5 on Hwahae with 441 reviews. The Koreans liked how this product never caused breakouts, and how it is a bit more viscous. They did mention that it does take longer to soah in than the Torriden Dive In Serum. Additionally, most of the reviews mention that even though this is for redness and soothing, the product didn’t help much. – which defies the point of the formulation

Where Can I Buy It?

Whenever I buy K-Beauty, I do shop at a couple of different places. If you want to see all of the places that I shop at, you can check them all out here.  I don’t remember where I picked this up, but you can get many K-Beauty brands with Sokoglam. Plus with Sokoglam, you can also use Rakuten for cash back off of your purchases on their site.

What is Rakuten?

Rakuten is a cashback site that gives you money for purchases you may have already made. They even have an extension for multiple browsers so when you go to a website that uses Rakuten, it will automatically pop up the cashback button to make sure you are saving money. I use this all the time, and I got over $80 back from them for purchases I was going to make anyway. That’s about 3 more albums I can buy!

If you’ve never used Rakuten before, you can use this link to get $10 when making a qualified purchase of $25 when using Rakuten. You will also get whatever percent cashback is being offered from the site you are purchasing from.  Sephora, typically has 4% cashback, through here. Ulta typically has 3%. These are just some of the companies on the website, but there are other major retailers on there as well!

Rakuten also has a Google Chrome extension that will tell you as soon as you log onto a site that has cashback with a little pop-up in the corner so that you can ensure you are saving money!

*I put bad in quotes here because everything is subjective. Just because an ingredient that may have some amount of research on it that it can cause issues in the skin exists in a product says nothing about how it is processed and refined when making the product. It also says nothing about where that particular ingredient came from and the quality of that ingredient. It’s just like with cooking you can have all the same ingredients to start, but depending on what you do with those ingredients, you can get two completely different end products. Liah Yoo, a YouTuber and now the owner of the brand Krave Beauty, made an excellent video talking about this.

**Note: 화해 still only exists in Korean, but some of the products can be searched for in English.
