Pyunkang Yul Black Tea Time Reverse Eye Cream Review

Pyunkang Yul Black Tea Time Reverse Eye Cream

Pyunkang Yul is probably one of my favorite K-Beauty Brands with some amazing, “clean” products. The never formulate with fragrance, and do their best to avoid trendy ingredients, focusing on those that are proven effective. Keep reading this post to find out what is in the Pyunkang Yul Black Tea Time Reverse Eye Cream, my thoughts, the Koreans thoughts, and where you can purchase this eye cream.

Things to know about Pyunkang Yul Black Tea Time Reverse Eye Cream:

Pyunkang Yul is a brand whose philosophy is that skincare should be brewed, not bought. They pride themselves on their oriental medicine background. They are a skincare brand that tailors themselves to be perfect for sensitive skin as well as every other skin type.

This product is formulated with the following ingredients that are good for your skin:
  • Macademia Ternifolia Seed Oil is an excellent moisturizing product that is best for those with dry skin. It is full of rich, fatty acids and vitamins that can quickly help brighten the eye area, and give you more dewy skin.
  • Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) is an ingredient that brightens and fights redness and irritation. It is an excellent ingredient to repair the skin barrier
  • Shea Butter is an excellent hydrator for dry skin. On top of that, it can soothe irritation and is full of antioxidants, which can help reduce signs of aging.
  • Hyaluronic Acid (in the form of Sodium Hyaluronate and Sodium Acetylated Hyaluronate) is a well known skin hydrator that, depending on the molecular weight can penetrate to different layers of the skin. It is known for not just being a hydrator, but it can also draw more water to you skin.
  • Black Tea Ferment is the highlighted ingredient in this formula. It is chock full of antioxidants that can help protect the skin from environmental damage. It can also help brighten the skin and assist the skin in “aging more gracefully”.
This product is formulated with the following ingredients that are “bad”* for your skin:
  • After looking through the ingredient deck, unless you have any known allergies to a particular ingredient, this product is not formulated with any ingredients that are known to cause irritation or allergic reactions
Who is this product good for?
  • Those with dry eyes
  • Those who are trying to prevent fine lines & wrinkles

K-Points: 10/10

So, for beauty reviews, unlike my album unboxings, I will be much harsher on because this can directly impact your health, where buying K-Pop albums does not. It just impacts your wallet. As such, all of my beauty reviews will be out of 10 points. I will not be going over that number.

Honestly, I love this eye cream. I have incredibly sensitive, dry eyes. This only gets worse every spring with my allergies, and my eye area is known to get red and irritated because of how much my eyes water. This eye cream definitely saved me from a lot of irritation and dry eyes this past spring. That being said, because this eye cream is a bit thicker, I would not recommend this product for those who have oily eyelids.

What are the Koreans saying?

I was digging through reviews on 화해 (Hwahae)**, a Korean skincare app that lists out the ingredients of products from many brands for people to look through as well as post reviews. The Koreans love how incredibly moisturizing this product is. They also noticed a brighter complexion around the eye area when using this product. Additionally, this product has a 4.29/5 on Hwahae.

Where Can I Buy It?

Whenever I buy K-Beauty, I do shop at a couple of different places. If you want to see all of the places that I shop at, you can check them all out here.  I have picked this product up from multiple different websites, including Style Korean and in boxes from BAZZAAL. That being said, this brand is being added to new sites all the time, and may eventually end up in places like Ulta, or other places where you can use Rakuten for cash back off of your purchases on their site.

*I put bad in quotes here because everything is subjective. Just because an ingredient that may have some amount of research on it that it can cause issues in the skin exists in a product says nothing about how it is processed and refined when making the product. It also says nothing about where that particular ingredient came from and the quality of that ingredient. It’s just like with cooking you can have all the same ingredients to start, but depending on what you do with those ingredients, you can get two completely different end products. Liah Yoo, Youtuber and now the owner of the brand Krave Beauty, made an excellent video talking about this. You can watch that here.

**Note: 화해 still only exists in Korean, but some of the products can be searched for in English.
