COSRx Balancium Comfort Ceramide Hand Cream (Intense) Review

As we move into the colder months, I spend more and more of my time applying hand cream. My hands and skin are already quite dry and all of the handwashing and hand sanitizer make it worse! So, I am constantly trying new hand creams, and I was really interested in the COSRx Balancium Comfort Ceramide Hand Cream. Keep reading to find out about the formula, the Koreans and my thoughts, as well as where you can find this hand cream yourself!

Things to know about the COSRx Balancium Comfort Ceramide Hand Cream (Intense):

Founded in 2013, COSRX is a brand with 8 different lines to try and help individuals find solutions to their skincare concerns. They pride themselves on using skin-friendly ingredients that don’t irritate the skin. They have 8 different lines total, all of which are targeted at different skincare concerns. On another, completely unrelated note, their current model is Kim Soo Hyun from My Love From Another Star, which I think most people can appreciate, for well, pretty face reasons.

Overall, this brand is a great brand for K-Beauty beginners who want to start learning about skincare. They have transparent marketing as to what skin types their products are targeted at, as well as clean, easy-to-read packaging.

This product is formulated with the following ingredients that are good for your skin:
  • Sunflower Seed Oil is known for soothing the skin as well as hydrating and strengthening the skin’s barrier.
  • Palm Kernel Oil is an excellent source of Vitamin E and it can greatly help to hydrate the skin. The only downside to it is that if it isn’t sourced from ethical suppliers, it is an ingredient that may not be ethically sourced.
  • Shea Butter is an ingredient that excels at moisturizing, fighting inflammation, and is full of antioxidants. Plus, it’s high in Vitamin E, D, and A. This allows it to be great at helping fade acne scars and hyperpigmentation, as well as soothe irritation.
  • Beeswax is an ingredient full of fatty acids that help moisturize and soften the skin. Additionally, this is an ingredient that can protect your skin from environmental damage, as it adds a protective layer over the skin.
  • Panthenol
  • Sodium Hyaluronate is a well known skin hydrator that, depending on the molecular weight can penetrate to different layers of the skin. It is known for not just being a hydrator, but it can also draw more water to you skin.
  • Ceramides can be used to rebuild and restore the skin’s protective barrier. They can also reduce signs of aging, and help prevent environmental damage.
This product is formulated with the following ingredients that are “bad”* for your skin:
  • Linolene and Linolool are fragrant compontents that are typically fine in formulas, unless you have a known allergy to them.
Who is this product good for?
  • Those with dry skin
  • Those with combination skin
  • Those who have to wash their hands or use hand sanitizer frequently.

K-Points: 10/10

So, for beauty reviews, unlike my album unboxings, I will be much harsher on because this can directly impact your health, where buying K-Pop albums does not. It just impacts your wallet. As such, all of my beauty reviews will be out of 10 points. I will not be going over that number.

I really enjoy this hand cream. It is incredibly moisturizing. It calms any irritation on my hands, and it dries relatively quickly without making me feel slimy. I have been able to open all doors in my house immediately after applying this lotion to my hands. For anyone who uses hand lotion, you know this can be a problem. Honestly, I have nothing negative to say about this hand lotion.

What are the Koreans saying?

I was digging through reviews on 화해 (Hwahae)**, a Korean skincare app that lists out the ingredients of products from many brands for people to look through as well as post reviews. Surprisingly, there are no reviews of this product on Hwahae when this post is being written. I will continue to monitor it to find out what the Koreans think of the product.

Where Can I Buy It?

Whenever I buy K-Beauty, I do shop at a couple of different places. If you want to see all of the places that I shop at, you can check them all out here.  I picked this product up on Style Korean, but many COSRX products are also available on Ulta Beauty. Plus with Ulta, you can also use Rakuten for cash back off of your purchases on their site.

What is Rakuten?

Rakuten is a cashback site that gives you money for purchases you may have already made. They even have an extension for multiple browsers so when you go to a website that uses Rakuten, it will automatically pop up the cashback button to make sure you are saving money. I use this all the time, and I got over $80 back from them for purchases I was going to make anyway. That’s about 3 more albums I can buy!

If you’ve never used Rakuten before, you can use this link to get $10 when making a qualified purchase of $25 when using Rakuten. You will also get whatever percent cashback is being offered from the site you are purchasing from.  Sephora, typically has 4% cashback, through here. Ulta typically has 3%. These are just some of the companies on the website, but there are other major retailers on there as well!

Rakuten also has a Google Chrome extension that will tell you as soon as you log onto a site that has cashback with a little pop-up in the corner so that you can ensure you are saving money!

*I put bad in quotes here because everything is subjective. Just because an ingredient that may have some amount of research on it that it can cause issues in the skin exists in a product says nothing about how it is processed and refined when making the product. It also says nothing about where that particular ingredient came from and the quality of that ingredient. It’s just like with cooking you can have all the same ingredients to start, but depending on what you do with those ingredients, you can get two completely different end products. Liah Yoo, Youtuber and now the owner of the brand Krave Beauty, made an excellent video talking about this. You can watch that here.

**Note: 화해 still only exists in Korean, but some of the products can be searched for in English.
