It’s a little bit delayed, I’m aware, but I was out of town for a few weeks, so the package was nicely sitting in my house begging to be open. If you read my review of SHINee Story of Light EP.2, you will know already that I am already quite a big fan of it. I thoroughly enjoyed every track, and felt that they were all great additions to their 10 year anniversary collection.
Per usual, I picked up my copy on Choice Music for $16.99 plus shipping. You can also pick up a copy off of Amazon from $24.11 here with free Prime shipping. If you don’t have Amazon Prime, you can get a 30 day free trial using this link here. I will not lie, the free 2 day shipping, plus all of the free music and videos are totally worth it. I also now use it for books for my Kindle paper white too, and it is honestly a life saver. They have a program called Kindle Unlimited where you can check out 10 books at a time, read them, and put them back in the kindle library. The program cost $7.99 a month, and you get the first 30 days for free with this link.
Things to know about SHINee Story of Light EP.2:
- There is only 1 version of this album
- Despite that, there are 2 other parts to the release, all initially released at 2 week intervals. These parts are:
- hings that come with the album:
- CD
- 16 page lyric book
- 2 random photo cards:
- One full group, 3 versions
- One individual member, 4 versions
- 64 page photo book
- The horizontal photo card has little messages from all 4 members, so no matter what you get a message from all members.
- All of the lyric books for these, when put together make foxes walking across the scene, like the first piece matches up with the second, etc.
- The first part’s primary color was red, this one is yellow, most likely the last part is blue.
- The photo book for EP.2 seems like it is a continuation of EP.1, like some of the photos are taken from similar locations
- I like how the CD is held in with the foam insert, and how it is ‘set” into the cardboard, with a notch to pull it out.
- Yet again, just like EP.1 I do not like how the cardboard insert can be pulled out and isn’t glued in
K-Points: 472/5
I really like how this packaging continues on the concept from the first part. Similar color schemes, similar photo books. Despite this, I am deducting points again though for the cardboard insert not being glued into the album, and also this time for the fact that the photo albums feel too similar from Story of Light EP.1 to Story of Light EP.2. I know it is supposed to be a series, but they could have at least changed the setting for the photo book or their outfits.
Should you buy a copy of this album? Totally! I still love SHINee and the songs on it, even though the photo book is similar to the first one. Can you just stream it? Absolutely. The music on it is still really good. I have a feeling that they will re-release this as some form of repackage in the next month or two. As a “final hoorah” for their 10th anniversary, there will probably be a set of all 3 so it might be worth holding off for a little bit on ordering it, as they will probably keep it in production until that happens.
