Day6 Shoot Me Album Unboxing

day shoot me

If you read my review of the Day6 Shoot Me mini-album, you would know that I greatly enjoyed the music that they put out this time. It was new and refreshing, especially after 6 months of no Day6. That is a massive contrast to last year where we had EveryDay Day6. Naturally, as a Day6 fan, I did pick up a copy of the album.

I pre-ordered my copies of Day6 Shoot Me from Choice Music, per usual. There they cost $16.99 plus shipping. You can pick up a copy here. they also have a set of 2 for $32.99 plus shipping here. I purchased the latter. Off of Amazon, the 2 version set is $43.90 here and 1 versoin is $23.90 here. Both have free shipping for Prime members.

If you don’t have Amazon Prime, you can get a 30 day free trial using this link here. I will not lie, the free 2 day shipping, plus all of the free music and videos are totally worth it. I also now use it for books for my Kindle paper white too, and it is honestly a life saver. They have a program called Kindle Unlimited where you can check out 10 books at a time, read them, and put them back in the kindle library. The program cost $7.99 a month, and you get the first 30 days for free with this link.

Things to know about the Day6 Shoot Me album:

  • There are 2 versions:
    • Bullet version (Gray and Red cover)
    • Trigger version (Yellow cover)
  • Things that come with the album:
    • 80 page photo book
    • CD
    • Clear card (5 versions, one for each member). They spell out youth if you get all 5.
    • Tattoo sheet
    • 1 random photo card (10 versions in trigger, 10 versions in bullet)
    • Selfie photo card (10 versions)
    • Poster (7 versions. I opted out of it, due to lack of wall space)
    • If you are lucky, since these are in the limited first press, Pop-up card set of the members. This I did get. I like that I can make Jae kick stuff, which is very appropriate.
    • 200 albums come with a signed polaroid. This requires extreme luck. I didn’t get any of those.
  • The photo books feature the members doing lots of staring off into the distance pensively, and trying to look “cool”. Let’s be honest though, they are all adorable dorks that we love, whether or not Young K is holding his bass. If you haven’t seen clips of Young K attempting to perform without his bass, today is your lucky day, as I have a beautiful Youtube compilation, created by someone called IGOT7 Inspirits. Here is a link. I hope you are all prepared.
  • I also have no idea how I managed to get both version of Dowoon for the selfie card.
  • The CD is held in with one of those foam circles, and they have the notch to help you pull it out. This is my favorite layout.
  • I also really like how the album contents are in a “folder” so that you don’t lose any of the things that they came with.

K-Points: 1291/5

I really like the packaging of DAY6 Shoot Me. I think the photo books are fantastic. They do a great job of looking cool, but they also have a slightly”dorky” element with YOUTH being spelled out on the clear cards. If you are a massive DAY6 fan, and you get the first press version of the album, you will love having the cutouts! I have already imagined all of the things that I can pretend to have Jae kick in my head, and you may see those on social media in the near future (@rachelkathryn11 on the Instagram).

Why is the album 1291/5 K-Points? It is mainly because I cannot think of anything I dislike about the packaging. The concept is different from anything they have done yet to date. The designer of the packaging did an EXCELLENT job on the balance of color on the album. I like that it is simple with Pops of the red and yellow. It really helps the members shine.

Should you pick up a copy of this album? Totally! It’s a very good album. I actually have listened to it on repeat a number of times since it came out, including on a flight from Pittsburgh to Phoenix. Which version should you get? I would say Bullet, just because I like it a little bit better, but red is also my favorite color. Can you simply stream it? Absolutely. It’s a very good album. This is one I would pick up if you have a little bit of extra money to spare.
