UNPA Charming Charcoal Black Gommage Peeling Gel Review

Unpa Cha Cha Gommage scaled

Back with another K-Beauty review for you all! Today, I wanted to talk to you about a product that I have found incredibly helpful when needing to slough off dead skin cells in general, but especially after a bad reaction to a product (more on my most recent reaction later). Today’s post is on my current “skin slough-er”, UNPA Charming Charcoal Black Gommage.

Whenever I buy K-Beauty, I do shop at a couple of different places. If you want to see all of the places that I shop at, you can check them all out here.  This product was picked up over on Sokoglam, a US-based K-Beauty seller. If you want to check them out, click here. With Sokoglam, you can also use E-Bates for cash back off of your purchases on their site.

What is Rakuten?

Rakuten is a cashback site that gives you money for purchases you may have already made. They even have an extension for multiple browsers so when you go to a website that uses Rakuten, it will automatically pop up the cashback button to make sure you are saving money. I use this all the time, and I got over 80$ back from them for purchases I was going to make anyway. That’s about 3 more albums I can buy!

If you’ve never used Rakuten before, you can use this link to get $10 when making a qualified purchase of $25 when using Rakuten. You will also get whatever percent cashback is being offered from the site you are purchasing from.  Sephora, typically has 4% cashback, through here. Ulta typically has 3%. These are just some of the companies on the website, but there are other major retailers are on there as well!

  • Argan cannelle oil is an ingredient that is high in Vitamin E to help revitalize tired skin.
This product is formulated with the following ingredients that are “bad” for your skin:
  • After taking a look at the product’s ingredient’s list, there are no alarming ingredients that could prove to be truly harmful for your skin in the product

K-Points: 7/10

So, for beauty reviews, unlike my album unboxings, I will be much harsher on because this can directly impact your health, where buying K-Pop albums does not. It just impacts your wallet. As such, all of my beauty reviews will be out of 10 points. I will not be going over that number.

Quite frankly, I am a big fan of this product. It is incredibly effective and efficient. In order to have little balls of skin pulling up, you really do not have to rub too hard, which is great. That being said, I am subtracting a few points as it’s efficiency may actually make it a bit drying on the skin. With my reaction, I used this to help take off some excess skin, and try and speed up the healing. Afterward, my skin did feel a bit dry. Of course, moisturizing products make up for a lot of that difference, but if you have dry skin, please be careful.

What are the Koreans saying?

I was digging through reviews on 화해**, a Korean skincare app that lists out the ingredients of products from many brands for people to look through as well as post reviews. After reading through some of the reviews, a number of the Koreans also noted that this made their skin feel a bit dry. They also noted that the product is probably best to avoid for someone who has sensitive skin or cannot use fragrance. So, they did echo the points that I noticed as well.

Have you tried any peeling gels that you like, K-Nuggets? Let me know in the comments down below!

사랑합니다!

**Note: 화해 still only exists in Korean, but some of the products can be searched for in English.
