Super Junior (슈퍼주니어) Official Lightstick Version 1 Unboxing

super junior official lightstick

Super quick post for you guys today. When I heard that 슈퍼주니어 (SuperJunior) was going to be releasing an official lightstick, I only had to think about it for a few days before I impulse purchased one straight from a Korean seller on E-bay and shipped it to my office out of excitement. This of course was totally in vain because I knew when it was arriving that I was going to be out of the office…. Insert late night trip to the office to pick it up so I didn’t have to socialize with people. If you want to know what sellers I buy my K-Goods from you can check here.

I do a lot of my album shopping on Music Plaza LA. Additionally, if you have never used Music Plaza before, this link will get you an extra 5% off of your first purchase!

You can also order a copy of the album from an eBay, as they typically have good prices. Plus, with eBay, you can save a little bit of money by using the E-Bates extension on your browser, as it will save you 2% on all album purchases, which definitely adds up.

What is E-Bates?

E-Bates is a cashback site that gives you money for purchases you may have already made. They even have an extension for multiple browsers so when you go to a website that uses Ebates, it will automatically pop up the cashback button to make sure you are saving money. I use this all the time, and I got over 80$ back from them for purchases I was going to make anyway. That’s about 3 more albums I can buy!

If you’ve never used EBates before, you can use this link to get $10 when making a qualified purchase of $25 when using EBates. You will also get whatever percent cashback is being offered from the site you are purchasing from.  Sephora, typically has 4% cashback, through here. Sokoglam typically has 3%. These percentages Many other major retailers are on there as well.

Things to know about this lightstick:

  • The packaging is extremely well made, and stays closed with a satisfying, snapping sound.
  • The lightstick takes 3 AAA  batteries (not included)… also take note of this if you plan on buying a lightstick at a concert)
  • It comes with a warranty card. This card is 100% in Korean, so if you don’t know it, you will have some fun. If you want to read my tips for learning Korean, check here.
  • The light stick has 5 settings on it: on, slow blink, quick blink, strobe light blinking, and what I like to call “flow glow” where it gets bright, then fades into total darkness, then back to bright.
  • To turn it off, hold in the button on it for like 3 seconds.
  • It’s got a rubber strap on it to help you hold it, and make sure you don’t lose it. Note the  usefulness when drinking.
  • It totally looks like the electric razor used by superheroes.
  • If you hit yourself in the head with it, it hurts (yes I totally hit myself in the head with it to test that. Not recommended for preserving brain cells)
  • My box totally smells like plastic, and yous might too.

K-Points: 450/5

So the reason this is getting a 450 rating from me is because I absolutely love SuperJunior and have turned into a complete and utter ELF. They are hilariously awkward men, and I love everything about them. The design of the lightstick is also great, not as great as SUJU themselves, but still good.  It’s super sleek, not bulky. You could easily fit it in a bag if you were going to a concert. I also really like the logo design that they have on it, even if it does look like an electric razor.

Besides using it at a concert, hitting people in the head with it, and when you are wandering around in the dark, it doesn’t really have many other uses. Will I totally love taking it to a SUJU Concert? Yes! The rest of the year will it be my flashlight? 그럼! Did I hyperventilate when I got it? Briefly, but then I realized that this object has limited uses.

Should you buy it? If you are a SUJUfan, yes, this is a must-have. If SUJU is not one of your groups, and you just like lightsticks, you can wait a bit before buying it. If you don’t like Suju, insert the function of using the lightstick to hit people.

Don’t be one of those people, K-Nuggets… Love SUJU…

사랑합니다!
