K-Points: 10/10

So, for beauty reviews, unlike my album unboxings, I will be much harsher because this can directly impact your health, whereas buying K-Pop albums does not. It just impacts your wallet. As such, all of my beauty reviews will be out of 10 points. I will not be going over that number.

Honestly, I find this collection absolutely adorable. It’s full of neutral tones and is incredibly wearable. Plus, the collection includes some of the products that I consistently reach for:

  • The Oil Capture Cooling Powder has quickly become my favorite face powder. When you have dry skin, it is incredibly challenging to find a face powder that you can use without it aggressively drying out your face, making it feel tight and awful. This is one of the only powders I have ever found that doesn’t make my face feel uncomfortable. On top of that, it doesn’t get clumpy or make my skin look awful. They say it is specifically for oil capture, but I honestly think this works for all skin types.
  • The All Take Mood Palettes are my absolutely favorite palettes for travel because they are so long and slim that they can easily fit into whatever bag I am carrying. On top of that, many of these palettes are perfect for fair-skinned people, like me, because you can easily control how much pigment is on your eyes. (With many western palettes, the makeup is too aggressive and dark).
  • Ink The Velvet are shades that I pull out all the time, especially when I have to wear a mask. They go on smoothly, without being cakey. And, they wear evenly, so you don’t get clumps on your lips or anything like that. Overall, it is an incredible formula.
  • Ink V Shading, yet again, is another product that is great for fair and darker-skinned people. They have 4 shades that vary quite a bit. Plus, in the lighter tones, they have more of a gray undertone, which is what you want in a contour. Many contours are too warm-toned and make the face look muddy. These are absolutely lovely and are one of my favorite contours to reach for.
  • Ink Mood Matte Tint is a newer line from Peripera that was developed during the pandemic as a tint that will not smudge under a mask. They’re light and comfortable. Plus, there are many MLBB shades that give your lips that extra “push”.
  • The Ink Black Long Lash Mascara is one that I have used and enjoyed before. It isn’t clumpy, and it gives me long, spidery lashes that are also not too spidery. Plus the brush is incredibly easy to work with and helps get a nice even coat every time.

What are the Koreans saying?

I was digging through reviews on 화해 (Hwahae)*, a Korean skincare app that lists out the ingredients of products from many brands for people to look through as well as post reviews. So, instead of going through and talking about what the Koreans thought since there is a full collection, I will rank all pieces in order based on the number of reviews and stars (note: some products are brand new with this collection).

Collection in Order of Popularity:
  1. Ink Black Long Lash Mascara Set (1,936 reviews, 4.15/5 stars – permanent collection)
  2. Ink V-Shading in Hazel Gray (not shown – 629 reviews, 4.6/5 stars – permanent collection)
  3. Ink Black Volume Curling Mascara Set (not shown – 1,226 reviews, 4.08/5 stars – permanent collection)
  4. Ink the Velvet 008 Sellout Red (428 reviews, 4.3/5 stars – permanent collection)
  5. Ink V-Shading in Almond Brown (434 reviews, 4.25/5 stars – permanent collection)
  6. Ink the Velvet 016 Heart Fushia Pink (163 reviews, 4.51/5 stars – permanent collection)
  7. Ink The Velvet 020 Classy Plum Rose (13 reviews, 4.52/5 stars – permanent collection)

Where Can I Buy It?

Whenever I buy K-Beauty, I shop at a couple of different places. If you want to see all of the places that I shop at, you can check them all out here.  I picked these up at a number of different places, including Style Korean and Olive Young. With a number of the places I shop for cosmetics, you can also use Rakuten for cash back off of your purchases on their site.

What is Rakuten?

Rakuten is a cashback site that gives you money for purchases you may have already made. They even have an extension for multiple browsers so when you go to a website that uses Rakuten, it will automatically pop up the cashback button to make sure you are saving money. I use this all the time, and I got over $80 back from them for purchases I was going to make anyway. That’s about 3 more albums I can buy!

If you’ve never used Rakuten before, you can use this link to get $10 when making a qualified purchase of $25 when using Rakuten. You will also get whatever percent cashback is being offered from the site you are purchasing from.  Sephora, typically has 4% cashback, through here. Ulta typically has 3%. These are just some of the companies on the website, but there are other major retailers on there as well!

Rakuten also has a Google Chrome extension that will tell you as soon as you log onto a site that has cashback with a little pop-up in the corner so that you can ensure you are saving money!
