NACIFIC Phyto Niacin Whitening Toner Review

NACIFIC Phyto Niacin Whitening Toner

I still have a number of Nacific products that I am working my way through from a big purchase earlier this year. I was looking through my stash for a new toner that had a bit more body to help hydrate my perpetually dry skin. When going through there, I noticed the NACIFIC Phyto Niacin Whitening Toner, and I figured I should give it a try. Keep reading to find out what ingredients are in the product, the Koreans’ and my thoughts, as well as where you can find this product yourself.

Things to know about NACIFIC Phyto Niacin Whitening Toner:

Nacific, a shortened form of Natural Pacific, is a brand that strives to make products that are derived from nature. All of their ingredients are supposed to come from nature (or be naturally found in nature) and are meant to help bring out their customers’ “natural beauty”.

This product is formulated with the following ingredients that are good for your skin:
  • Niacinamide also known as Vitamin B3, is an excellent ingredient for brightening the skin. This is the 3rd ingredient on the list, so we know that there is quite a bit of it on the list.
  • Allantoin is a moisturizer and exfoliant. If you are known to have dry and itchy skin, this ingredient is perfect for you. This ingredient can also help heal injured skin as it is an ingredient that is found in chamomile and beets.
  • Panthenol, also known as provitamin B5 is a star ingredient in Korea at this moment in time and for a good reason. It is an excellent moisturizer that helps bind water to the skin. It is also an excellent ingredient for those with dry and flaky skin.
  • Sodium Hyaluronate is the salt form of hyaluronic acid, a moisturizing superstar, that holds 1000 times its weight in water. In comparison to hyaluronic acid, it is much smaller, and can penetrate into deeper layers of the skin, providing more moisture than it’s acidic counterpart.
This product is formulated with the following ingredients that are “bad”* for your skin:
  • Phenoxyethanol can be known to cause strong allergic reactions if you have a known allergy to it. Additionally, although it is generally deemed safe, in very large doses (200 times more than
  • PEG-32 PEG is simply an abbreviation of Polyethylene Glycol, and the 35 after it refers to the molecular weight of the PEG. Any product in the PEG line there is the potential to be carcinogenic, especially when used in higher concentrations. This isn’t because of the PEG-35 itself, but due to contamination that can occur. That being said, any PEGs in skincare products go through a refinement process that helps remove most of the contamination.
Who is this product good for?
  • Those with dry skin
  • Those with irritated skin
  • Those that have dull skin

K-Points: 10/10

So, for beauty reviews, unlike my album unboxings, I will be much harsher on because this can directly impact your health, where buying K-Pop albums does not. It just impacts your wallet. As such, all of my beauty reviews will be out of 10 points. I will not be going over that number.

I really like this toner. It has a bit of a thicker texture, and it is incredibly hydrating. Additionally, since my skin is habitually dry,

What are the Koreans saying?

I was digging through reviews on 화해**(Hwahae), a Korean skincare app that lists out the ingredients of products from many brands for people to look through as well as post reviews. Although there aren’t many reviews of this product in Hwahae, the Koreans did comment on how hydrating the formula is. They did also mention though that after using it 2-3 times, it doesn’t feel as hydrating when using the 7 skin method. That’s probably because of the sodium hyaluronate because if you use too much it can actually dry your skin out. So, that part of their reviews has nothing to do with the product itself, but all to do with misusing it.

Where Can I Buy It?

Whenever I buy K-Beauty, I do shop at a couple of different places. If you want to see all of the places that I shop at, you can check them all out here.  This particular one, I believe I picked it up off of StyleKorean or off of Sokoglam. With Sokoglam, you can also use Rakuten for cash back off of your purchases on their site.

What is Rakuten?

Rakuten is a cashback site that gives you money for purchases you may have already made. They even have an extension for multiple browsers so when you go to a website that uses Rakuten, it will automatically pop up the cashback button to make sure you are saving money. I use this all the time, and I got over $80 back from them for purchases I was going to make anyway. That’s about 3 more albums I can buy!

If you’ve never used Rakuten before, you can use this link to get $10 when making a qualified purchase of $25 when using Rakuten. You will also get whatever percent cashback is being offered from the site you are purchasing from.  Sephora, typically has 4% cashback, through here. Ulta typically has 3%. These are just some of the companies on the website, but there are other major retailers on there as well!

Rakuten also has a Google Chrome extension that will tell you as soon as you log onto a site that has cashback with a little pop-up in the corner so that you can ensure you are saving money!

*I put bad in quotes here because everything is subjective. Just because an ingredient that may have some amount of research on it that it can cause issues in the skin exists in a product says nothing about how it is processed and refined when making the product. It also says nothing about where that particular ingredient came from and the quality of that ingredient. It’s just like with cooking you can have all the same ingredients to start, but depending on what you do with those ingredients, you can get two completely different end products. Liah Yoo, Youtuber and now the owner of the brand Krave Beauty, made an excellent video talking about this. You can watch that here.

**Note: 화해 still only exists in Korean, but some of the products can be searched for in English.
