GOT7 (갓세븐) Lightstick Unboxing

got lightstick

I have a shorter, but still good post for you today. As many of you may know, GOT7 will be going on a World Tour starting this month. I, myself, magically was able to score tickets to their performance in Toronto for myself and my cousin (I hope to see some of you there). I actually squealed when we managed to get the tickets, while getting my hair done by my hairdresser, who was highly amused. 농담이 아닌다 (That’s not even joking in Korean). In honor of that, and being able to see them all in person (insert nondescript noise that my head is making in anticipation), I bought myself a GOT7 lightstick, as it will be necessary at the concert.

I picked this up from Choice Music, as I was already buying a bunch of other stuff. On their website, it costs $39.99 plus shipping. You can get it here. Update: I do not shop at Choice Music anymore, due to a bad customer service experience, so I now shop at Music Plaza LA. If you have never used Music Plaza before, this link will get you an extra 5% off of your first purchase!

On Amazon, you can pick it up for 20.99 plus free shipping here. I will note though, I’m not sure if this is a legitimate source, as that seems way too cheap for that product. This is based on the fact that the lightstick in Korea is around 35,000₩, which is around $35.00. So it feels a wee bit too cheap.

You can also order a copy of the album from an eBay, as they typically have good prices. Plus, with eBay, you can save a little bit of money by using the E-Bates extension on your browser, as it will save you 2% on all album purchases, which definitely adds up.

What is E-Bates?

E-Bates is a cashback site that gives you money for purchases you may have already made. They even have an extension for multiple browsers so when you go to a website that uses Ebates, it will automatically pop up the cashback button to make sure you are saving money. I use this all the time, and I got over 80$ back from them for purchases I was going to make anyway. That’s about 3 more albums I can buy!

If you’ve never used EBates before, you can use this link to get $10 when making a qualified purchase of $25 when using EBates. You will also get whatever percent cashback is being offered from the site you are purchasing from.  Sephora, typically has 4% cashback, through here. Sokoglam typically has 3%. These percentages Many other major retailers are on there as well.

Things to know about this lightstick:

  • This is the 2016 version of the lightstick. A more recent version was just released a few weeks ago for their world tour. I actually like this one better.
  • The lightstick automatically cycles through a bunch of different flashing patterns, or as I like to call them epilepsy settings.
  • These “epilepsy settings” cannot be changed with a control, the lightstick just does it automatically.
  • The lightstick is actually really light, but also durable despite it’s size. I was pleasantly surprised. I guess that means I will be less likely to get carpal tunnel when I shake it everywhere.

K-Points: 469/5

Okay, I’m going to just start by saying that I am so happy that I’m finally owning a lightstick that I will actually be using at a concert instead of only using when the power goes out or I want to have a rave. Things that I wish this lightstick had: a button to control the various light blinking patterns. I really don’t like that the blinking settings can’t be controlled so that it just stays on, or blinks slowly, and you just have to sit and watch the whole thing. Other than that, I am really happy with this purchase and am quite excited to us it in July.

Are any of you going to the GOT7 Concert in Toronto? Let me know in the comments below.

사랑합니다!
