Although I have never gotten a tattoo myself, as I am too indecisive to pick one thing to permanently have on my body, plus I have an irrational fear of needles, I have always been fascinated by my friends’ tattoos. A tattoo says a lot about the individual’s personality and what is important to them. So, when FREAKY NINE, a new temporary tattoo company in Korea reached out to me asking if I wanted to review their product, I couldn’t turn it down. Keep reading to learn more about the palettes, my and the Koreans’ thoughts, and where you can find one yourself.
Things to know about FREAKY NINE:
I did get a chance to ask FREAKY NINE some questions about their company, how it started, and their mission statement. FREAKY NINE realized that Korean tattoo artists have so much potential around the globe. They have such a unique drawing style and go overseas to do tattoos for people that they wanted to do more to promote their work abroad. So, by partnering with them to create temporary tattoos, they are hoping to expand their influence further around the globe.

When selecting tattoo artists to work with, FREAKY NINE, they don’t focus on which artists have a large following, or are popular, instead they focus on if they have unique designs and whether can they bring something new to the table. As stated in their mission statement, “Skin is a canvas – Express yourself without words.” Just as you wear different clothes and makeup every day, our bodies are also a part of our style. That being said, style on the body doesn’t have to be permanent. FREAKY NINE understands that people are afraid of permanence and this causes them to be hesitant to even try it. With FREAKY NINE‘s temporary tattoos, you can change your style every day, depending on your mood.

So, for beauty reviews, unlike my album unboxings, I will be much harsher because this can directly impact your health, whereas buying K-Pop albums does not. It just impacts your wallet. As such, all of my beauty reviews will be out of 10 points. I will not be going over that number.
My best friend and I had so much fun using these tattoos. We loved how they came in a pack of 2 so that we could share them. They were very easy to apply overall, and we LOVED how we didn’t need water. That makes these perfect for the go. There are 2 things you need to be careful of when using these though:
- Be careful when putting them on an area that is hard to press on. The tattoos seem to work off of pressure and heat, so if you cannot easily get enough of either of those things in the area, it will be more challenging to apply. We discovered this when applying the one on my neck.
- If you are wearing a shirt with any amount of fluff, be careful, because the fluff will get on the tattoo, as you can see in the photo with my best friend on her arm.
Even with those two caveats, they were so much fun that those things didn’t cause our opinion to falter and we really enjoyed these! They’re great for events or concerts, whenever you need something for a look, but don’t want it all the time.
What are the Koreans saying?
As this is a newer company, there weren’t as many reviews from what I could see, but I did go on their Korean Website, and I could see that people were talking about how cute all the tattoos are. They also love how discreet and non-obvious they are. On top of that, they also appreciated that they include the alcohol wipes that you need for the product, and how easy they were to apply.
