EXO Coming Over (Japanese Release) Unboxing

exo coming over

I know this is a Japanese release, and this is a blog about Korea, but EXO is and will always be the exception to Korea all the time. When I found out that EXO Coming Over was going to be one where the covers all had different members on them, well, let’s be honest. Chanyeol had to be bought. Thank you,  미미 언니 (she gave me this signed CD) for telling me about this one a year and half ago.

I picked up my copy of this on Amazon. The Chanyeol version costs $21.99 currently there. Here is a link. If you have Prime, it has free 2-day shipping.

If you don’t have Amazon Prime, you can get a 30 day free trial using this link here. I will not lie, the free 2 day shipping, plus all of the free music and videos are totally worth it. I also now use it for books for my Kindle paper white too, and it is honestly a life saver. They have a program called Kindle Unlimited where you can check out 10 books at a time, read them, and put them back in the kindle library. The program cost $7.99 a month, and you get the first 30 days for free with this link.

Things to know about EXO Coming Over:

  • There are 9 versions of this album, one for each member
  •  Things that come with this album:
    • CD
    • Photo book (about 30 pages)
    • Photo card of one of the members (9 versions)
  • Despite Chanyeol being on the cover, the photo book has photos of more than just Chanyeol. There are group photos of all of the members
  • I love the dark feel to this album, even if it is short. They all look amazing, really attractive.
  • The photo card looks like it popped out of Overdose
  • I also do not like how the CD is held in by a plastic thing. I’m afraid I will break it, and then the CD will fall out.

K-Points: 444/5

I love EXO, you all know that, but, when I compare this to other EXO albums, it doesn’t stand out as much for packaging, but Japan has different standard for music albums. In Japan, they typically do not do the massive photo books with 50 million bonus items. They keep it simple, much more similar to the United States. Main reason that points are docked? Plastic CD holder. I cannot stand those.

So, should you buy a copy of this album? Out of all the EXO albums, unless you are looking for ones of particular members, put this lower on your list. It isn’t necessary to have. Go for Power of Music first, and then go through the Korean releases. After that, you can start working on Japanese releases, unless you are looking for a specific member. Then just go for it!
