Throughout the entirety of December and into the beginning of January, when I am finally beginning to feel how much stuff I purchased as they all show up one by one, I purchased and pre-ordered so many albums that I began to lose track. Between Season’s Greetings, repackages, holiday releases, and backfilling albums that have the late Jonghyun on them, it was an extremely busy December in the K-Pop world. Moving into January, there are not as many albums that I plan on ordering, which is good because my wallet needs a serious break…. and I still have many posts to write on all of the things that were ordered last month. Today’s un-boxing is the repackage of 태민’s Move album entitled Move-ing. This repackage was (praise the K-Pop gods) only released with one version, so it is not a wallet destroyer.
I do a lot of my album shopping on Music Plaza LA. Additionally, if you have never used Music Plaza before, this link will get you an extra 5% off of your first purchase!
You can also order a copy of the album from an eBay, as they typically have good prices. Plus, with eBay, you can save a little bit of money by using the E-Bates extension on your browser, as it will save you 2% on all album purchases, which definitely adds up.
What is E-Bates?
E-Bates is a cashback site that gives you money for purchases you may have already made. They even have an extension for multiple browsers so when you go to a website that uses Ebates, it will automatically pop up the cashback button to make sure you are saving money. I use this all the time, and I got over 80$ back from them for purchases I was going to make anyway. That’s about 3 more albums I can buy!
If you’ve never used EBates before, you can use this link to get $10 when making a qualified purchase of $25 when using EBates. You will also get whatever percent cashback is being offered from the site you are purchasing from. Sephora, typically has 4% cashback, through here. Sokoglam typically has 3%. These percentages Many other major retailers are on there as well.
This album features 13 tracks, nine of which are on the original release. Four of them are only included in this version. All of the tracks are available through streaming services, so if you have the original version, and are just missing those particular tracks and you have a streaming service available, you can just get them there if it is just the music you care about.
Things to note about the Repackage:
- There is only one version of this album.
- Things that come with the album:
- CD
- Photobook (about 40 pages)
- 3 reversible photo cards
- Pre-order only: Poster
- The whole album is very Taemin, so if you wanted the repackage to be different from the original, it is not. Quite frankly, I prefer the photos from the original release to these. It’s legit just Taemin wearing winter clothes… they aren’t like sexy or anything of that nature.
- The repackage album is the same size as the original release, so they look great on the shelf next to each other. Also, the spines color coordinate and are from similar palettes.
K-Points: 264/5
Thankfully in the repackage, there were actually new songs, but even with those new songs (which are quite good), this repackage for me is not a must buy. The photos, in my opinion, are lackluster in comparison to some of his other releases (although I totally want that cow print fluffy sweater) and the album doesn’t excite me that much. On top of that, the songs from the album that gets stuck in my head most frequently are all in the original version of the album. I’m also not a fan of the accompanying poster. I’m not even that tempted to hang it up on a wall.
If you are going to buy any versions of this album, go for the original releases. The photos are way better, you get more of the photos, and all of the songs that I think are necessary for your collection are on there. The posters are also way prettier in the original release.
If you are getting this to just add to your collection because, like me, you are a Taemin fan, go for it, as there is added content on here. I, personally, do not think that this is a physical copy must-buy. I wasn’t 100% wow-ed by it. I still appreciate Taemin’s artistry, and how he works his androgynous looks, but I expected more, and I hope that there is more to come in 2018.
