Mamamoo (마마무) Yellow Flower Album Unboxing

mamamoo yellow flower

This album wasn’t initially on my list of albums to buy in the month of March, but, after I heard it, I thought to myself “wait, why wasn’t this on my list of albums that I was going to buy? I love Mamamoo, and Solar can do no wrong. She is a magical singing goddess!” Insert this album being added to my preorder for MonstaX and TVXQ. A few weeks later, all of the albums finally entered my hands at the exact same time, and my hands were too small to hold all of them at one time, but I was ecstatic.

I picked my copy up at Choice Music for 17.99, plus shipping (you can get it here). Update: I do not shop at Choice Music anymore due to a bad customer service experience. Instead, I buy most of my albums off of Music Plaza LA. If you want 5% off of your first purchase, you can use this link.

You can also get it on Amazon for 25$ here. Not sure which one will be cheaper in this situation after shipping this time…. so the choice is yours.

You can also order a copy of the album from an eBay, as they typically have good prices. Plus, with eBay, you can save a little bit of money by using the E-Bates extension on your browser, as it will save you 2% on all album purchases, which definitely adds up.

What is E-Bates?

E-Bates is a cashback site that gives you money for purchases you may have already made. They even have an extension for multiple browsers so when you go to a website that uses Ebates, it will automatically pop up the cashback button to make sure you are saving money. I use this all the time, and I got over 80$ back from them for purchases I was going to make anyway. That’s about 3 more albums I can buy!

If you’ve never used EBates before, you can use this link to get $10 when making a qualified purchase of $25 when using EBates. You will also get whatever percent cashback is being offered from the site you are purchasing from.  Sephora, typically has 4% cashback, through here. Sokoglam typically has 3%. These percentages Many other major retailers are on there as well.

Things to know about this album:

  • There is only one version of this album.
  • Things that come with this album:
    • CD
    • Box for the album
    • Photobook (84 pages)
    • Photocard of one of the members (4 versions)
  • One thing that is poorly designed about this album is how you get the CD out. The tabs to pull it out are on the sides, right smack up next to the cardboard packaging, and there isn’t much space to pull it out. It took me like 3 minutes to get the CD out so I could load it into my computer. They should have put a tab on the tab that you can actually get your finger under, as I have small fingers, but still struggled with that.
  • The photo book is BEAUTIFUL. Their outfits are amazing, and I want every single one of them. Hwasa with that gorgeous flowing dress blowing behind her…. like yes.

K-Points: 487/5

Not only is this an amazing mini-album, but the photo book is absolutely gorgeous. If I get an album full of pictures of women, the goal is for me to want to buy their outfits. I want to buy their outfits. So they did well. They are being docked points though for the terrible design on getting the CD out. It was a struggle bus, and I’ve never see a CD designed to come out like that. It was even more frustrating because all I wanted to do was listen to the music, and I couldn’t cause the CD hated me.

Should you buy a copy of this album? If you can afford it, absolutely.  I wouldn’t make it a top priority to purchase though for albums, as streaming does exist. Plus the music is the important thing, here. Streaming does exist. You can stream it. The benefit of this album is the pretty pictures, and knowing that their outfits can serve as inspiration.

Who’s outfit in Mamamoo do you like the most from this promotion? What track on the album is your favorite? Let me know in the comments below.
