I’m not going to lie, I’m actually really excited that Twice is back with a new comeback, Twice Yes or Yes? The ladies in the group are so cute and adorable, and somehow they always excel at writing extremely catchy songs that have a habit of getting stuck in my head. On top of that, they happened to make the album color theme my favorite colors: red, black, and white. Because of that, I’m hoping we get a taste of the Twice Ooh Aah era again.
I did pick up a copy of this album on Choice Music, as I mentioned in my NCT Regular-Irregular unboxing, I will not be shopping from there anymore, due to their customer service policies. They may be a few dollars cheaper than everywhere else, but when dealing with their customer service, I didn’t feel valued as a customer. As such, I will be shopping at other sellers.

I don’t think that is too expensive, based off of what it comes with, as there are posters as well other places make you pay extra for those. Other thoughts besides what is in the video? This is actually one of my favorite Twice comebacks of late! I feel like even though they are still being cute, they took it in a slightly different direction. Do I still want to see lady killer Twice? Duh. This is a step closer!
Say You Love Me
Another cute song by Twice, but this song actually has a bit more vocal weight than songs I’ve heard from Twice previously. By having more vocal weight, the song has a slightly deeper sound to it. Other things that I like about this song: the guitar, when the song breaks down in the second verse into the rap. Honestly, this song is a bop! Nice and simple, but really catchy. It’s cute girls! Keep it up!

Young & Wild
I must say, this track sounds very similar to the previous track. They both have the same horns, and similar instrumentation. one thing that does stand out to me is Ji Hyo’s vocals. Girl has some serious pipes, and I feel like they are under utilized in the group. She’s very talented, and has a seriously powerful voice. Twice’s cute style though means that she doesn’t get to shine as much as she can. Does that mean . Ithink the group is bad for her? No. It gives her a platform so that maybe in the long run we may get Ji Hyo on her own. I will look forward to that day. Not much else to say about this song, as it sounds far too similar to the previous track.
Sunset
More cute tracks! I like the baseline in this track, and I also enjoy the synth on top of it. It’s cute. Other than that, I really don’t have much else to say about this track, as I feel like it is similar to things they have previously put out into the world. This is something I say every time Twice comes back. I like them, but I feel like a lot of their music is very straight, and doesn’t play with music as much as they can. It’s decent, just not innovative.
After Moon
Taking it down for a ballad! Yet again, I feel like they have produced a song that was just like this previously. Do I dislike it because it’s been done? No. Honestly, I’m just bored with it. Key of SHINee expresses my emotions well. So this is how I feel:
I know a lot of people are massive fans of TWICE, and I like them quite a bit as well. I don’t like how they are being limited in their music to one particular image. It makes me sad. Can they break this image down? Absolutely. They just need to mix it up more, like how I mentioned in my video: “Please tell me Twice is murdering people” That would have totally shifted their image. #BringUsLadyKillerTWICE
BDZ
Okay, this song I can get on board with. If I remember correctly, this song was released in Japanese first. This song is honestly a ton of fun. Still extremely cute, but it isn’t as airy sounding as some of their other tracks. I also like how they made an 8-bit track. It’s fun. I’m a big gamer, so of course, I like it. Good job being adorable girls!

Although I was a big fan of their new single, and I love how cute and adorable they are, I still think that TWICE is capable of so much more than JYP allows them to do. They have them stuck in this cute, adorable mold, and they can’t get out. They just tweak it slightly. Yes, they are massive sellers, and people really love them for how cute they are. On the other hand, to propel their careers forward, mixing it up would do them a lot of good. Let’s be real though, I’m not Twice’s target audience AT ALL. I’m not in my teens, and I’m not male. As such, their music is never meant for me. Do I wish they would expand that audience?
Should you buy a copy of this album? Twice Yes or Yes is adorable. The video itself is extremely cute. I also really like their outfits. Is that reason enough to buy the album? I’m not so sure, but if you are a die-hard TWICE fan, I would totally go for it! Should you stream the album still? Absolutely. The single is adorable, and I like BDZ as well.
