I absolutely love Korean Dramas, especially those of the fantasy variety. Korea always has a really interesting take on fantasy, using familiar tropes in unfamiliar ways. The Scholar Who Walks At Night is one of those dramas that I have watched multiple times at this point and would watch again. The Scholar Who Walks the Night aired on MBC from July 8th – September 10th 2015. The drama featured Lee Joongi (Scarlet Heart Ryeo), Lee Yubi (Yumi’s Cells), Shim Changmin (TVXQ), and Lee Soo Hyuk (Doom At Your Service). In the story, Kim Sung Yeol (Lee Joongi) is a vampire who is responsible for getting rid of any vampire who obeys the rules. Jo Yang Sun (Lee Yubi) is the daughter of an aristocrat who was framed for treason. To protect herself, she cross-dresses as a male bookseller. Kim Sung Yeol, in an attempt to try to take down an evil vampire, Gwi (Lee Soo Hyuk), tasks Jo Yang Sun with tracking down the memorandum of the late Crown Prince of Joseon. I honestly really love this K-Drama as a whole. It is one that I have watched multiple times. Although the album is simple, I love the extra photography as a momento from the series. On top of that, the CD has some amazing tracks from K-Pop artists that are definitely worth a listen, including one of my favorite groups, BTOB.
