Snackfever: RamyunFever February 2018

ramyunfever feb

Giving you guys an extra quick post today, as I figured I needed to talk about this, and just haven’t had the chance to yet. If you have been following my block, you would have read my previous posts about my SnackFever subscription (It’s a Korean Junk Food subscription) in January, and I wanted to talk about one of the other subscription that I get called RamyunFever where they send you different Ramen straight from Korea every month. This box was accidentally sent to me as they meant to send me another one, and I actually added the subscription for it. We all know that you can’t go wrong with Ramen, and the Korean varieties are SOO much better than any of the ones that you can get in America.

Things to know about this box:

  • It comes in 3 different sizes:
    • Mini which has 4-5 items and is 19.49$ a month if you get a 12 month subscription
    • Original which has 7-8 items  is $28.49 a month if you get a 12 month subscription(That’s this one)
    • Deluxe which has 11-13 items
  • Every month they give you a variety of different flavored ramen for you to try.
  • They also give you some sort of Freebie cute item and a sticker. This month the extra item was a spoon
  • They ship from Korea, but ship all over the world

So I’m not going to talk too much about the individual items in the box this month, or put it on the K-Crack Scale but there is one thing I want to note about Korean Ramen in comparison to the varieties sold in the US: The ingredients are usually a bit cleaner, as there are a lot of preservatives in the US that cannot be sold in foods internationally. I’m not going to write a long blurb as to why here, and I will write a post on it at a later date if you would like, but this is basically because the US, and US politics have a different relationship with food and nature than most of the world. This relationship could be secretly, negatively impacting our health as well as the environment. This is part of the reason that I typically try not to eat a lot of processed American foods, as I’m aware of a number of things in foods here that are, well, questionable. As lots of these ingredients aren’t legal in other countries, you will not find them in foods there.

On top of that, Korean food is just lighter than US food as a whole. When you eat it, you feel full, but not heavy. Most of you probably know the feeling I am referring to. It’s just good stuff.

What’s your favorite Korean food that you’ve tried? Let me know in the comments!

사랑힙니다!
