This week we are doing something a little bit different, as K-Beauty is more than just skincare. It also includes makeup. So, today I wanted to talk about a K-Beauty product that is easily found in the western world, Kaja Beauty Bento Bouncy Eyeshadow Shimmer Trio.
Whenever I buy K-Beauty, I do shop at a couple of different places. If you want to see all of the places that I shop at, you can check them all out here. I picked this product up at Sephora, which is a store that partners with Rakuten for cash back off of your purchases on their site.
What is Rakuten?
Rakuten is a cashback site that gives you money for purchases you may have already made. They even have an extension for multiple browsers so when you go to a website that uses Rakuten, it will automatically pop up the cashback button to make sure you are saving money. I use this all the time, and I got over 80$ back from them for purchases I was going to make anyway. That’s about 3 more albums I can buy!
If you’ve never used Rakuten before, you can use this link to get $10 when making a qualified purchase of $25 when using Rakuten. You will also get whatever percent cashback is being offered from the site you are purchasing from. Sephora, typically has 4% cashback, through here. Sokoglam typically has 3%. These percentages Many other major retailers are on there as well.

This product is formulated with the following ingredients that are good for your skin:
- Dimethicone when used in makeup increases the spreadability of the product. It allows you to more easily spread the eye shadow across your lids, and it makes the product blend out easier. This is the first ingredient in all of the shadows that I checked
- Tocopherol (Vitamin E) is a form of Vitamin E that is usually found in skincare and is known to be very hydrating for the skin. This ingredient helps the eyeshadow feel smooth and not drying on the skin
This product is formulated with the following ingredients that are “bad” for your skin:
- Phenoxyethanol is a preservative that can be typically found in cosmetics and skincare. There are regulations that the formula cannot be more than 1% of it in the product. That being said, this ingredient can cause allergic reactions to the skin.
- Carmine (Ci 75470) is a pigment that is added to products with red or pink tones. It gives them their coloring. Although not directly a bad ingredient, this ingredient is not vegan as it is typically made from an insect. Although less known to cause irritation than it’s vegan counterparts, it is something to consider before buying this product.
K-Points: 8/10
So, for beauty reviews, unlike my album unboxings, I will be much harsher on because this can directly impact your health, where buying K-Pop albums does not. It just impacts your wallet. As such, all of my beauty reviews will be out of 10 points. I will not be going over that number.
Honestly, I love these trios. As of writing this post, I have most of the shades, and I love them all. They are perfect for travel, as they are so compact. Plus, they now make them with matte shades too (not shown here). What I love most about these shadows though isn’t that they are compact, but it’s how shiny and glittery the eyeshadows are without having big chunks of glitter in them. They are so finely milled and beautiful on the eyes.
What are the Koreans saying?
I was digging through reviews on 화해**, a Korean skincare app that lists out the ingredients of products from many brands for people to look through as well as post reviews. I went into all of the pages on 화해 for this, and I couldn’t find any reviews, positive or negative. That being said, on Sephora in the US (I couldn’t find it in the Korean Sephora), this product has incredibly positive reviews. Most reviews are at least 4 out of 5 stars, with most being 5 out of 5.
Have you tried any of the Kaja Beauty products, K-Nuggets? What did you think? Let me know in the comments down below!
사랑합니다!

**Note: 화해 still only exists in Korean, but some of the products can be searched for in English.
