This album, right here, has probably become one of my favorite albums in my collections for a ton of reasons. Here is a list of all of the reason that I love this album:
- Every song is of high quality.
- This album helped propel K-Pop into the US to such a point that most people I know have heard of it, and are impressed with it.
- My father now knows all of the names of the members of BTS.
- My sister ended up getting MIC Drop in her playlist and then gasping when she realized it was K-Pop, followed quickly by “Don’t tell my sister because she’ll laugh”.
- All of my coworkers now text me every time they see them on TV asking “Are these your boys?” To which I proudly respond “Yes they are! Look at my little nuggets taking American culture by storm!”
As such, it was only natural that this album had to be a part of my collection.

So, I totally love the music on this album, it is an extremely solid album and every song is fantastic from start to finish, as I can listen to this album on repeat (and frequently do) jamming out to every song. In regards to the packaging of these albums, I don’t consider them to be anything overly special. The packaging of this doesn’t fully express the importance of this album for the industry.
All of this being said, is this an album you should have in your collection? 100% yes. The album itself is fantastic, and the photo books are still great, the just don’t cause me to hyperventilate (I really want them to though). If you can only get 1 of the 4 versions, I personally recommend the V or E versions. The photos in there are what I personally prefer.
I personally hope that they start upping the game on their packaging, since they’re BTS, and they are baller. I want their albums to be as baller as they are. Maybe they will do that if they are repackaging this album this spring, which would fit their pattern for releases.
