This post took me ages to get around to posting! Why you ask? Well, quite frankly, I don’t know! In January, the boys of iKON repackaged the New Kids series into iKON New Kids: The New Kids. This album has one new track on it, “I’m Okay” as well as 22 previously released songs on 2 CDs.
Things to know about the iKON New Kids: The New Kids Album:
- There are 2 versions of this album (both shown):
- Red
- Black
- Things that come with the album:
- 2 CDs
- Photobook (about 70 pages)
- Clear case with iKON imprinted on the front
- Key chain
- Random selfie photo card
- Folded 2 sided-Poster
- Sticker Sheet
- Lyric book
- Postcard
- (Pre-order only) 2-sided poster
- This is one heck of a repackage! They gave us stickers and a keychain!
- I love the overall design of this album with the clear case, and everything showing inside. It really makes it stand out on a shelf!
K-Points: 143/5
This album truly went above and beyond in regards to album contents! They gave you a poster, key chain, and stickers all as parts of the regular set. This album doesn’t disappoint in the slightest. On top of that, the way that they re-ordered the tracks on the album is interesting. If you want more up-tempo songs, put in CD 1. If you want slower songs, put in CD 2!
So should you get yourself a copy of this album? If you are a huge fan of iKON, this album is such a nice treat for fans. It comes with a lot of extra goodies for you to enjoy. If you own all of the previous ones, this is definitely not worth it though, as there is only one new song on it. To a certain extent, it is a YG money grab. Should you stream it? Even if there is only one new song, the re-ordering of all of the tracks definitely makes it worth listening to.
Where can I buy it?
I ordered both copies of the album from an eBay seller in Korea. This is a link to the exact one I’ve ordered. I got both copies for $64.99 (subject to change) plus free shipping. Plus, with eBay, you can save a little bit of money by using the E-Bates extension on your browser, as it will save you 2% on all album purchases, which definitely adds up.
What is Rakuten?
Rakuten is a cashback site that gives you money for purchases you may have already made. They even have an extension for multiple browsers so when you go to a website that uses Rakuten, it will automatically pop up the cashback button to make sure you are saving money. I use this all the time, and I got over $80 back from them for purchases I was going to make anyway. That’s about 3 more albums I can buy!
If you’ve never used Rakuten before, you can use this link to get $10 when making a qualified purchase of $25 when using Rakuten. You will also get whatever percent cashback is being offered from the site you are purchasing from. Sephora, typically has 4% cashback, through here. Ulta typically has 3%. These are just some of the companies on the website, but there are other major retailers on there as well!
Rakuten also has a Google Chrome extension that will tell you as soon as you log onto a site that has cashback with a little pop-up in the corner so that you can ensure you are saving money!
Can I get it on Amazon?
Yes! You can pick up a copy using this link here for about $39.50 (not as good of a deal), with free shipping if you have Amazon Prime.
If you don’t have Amazon Prime, you can get a 30-day free trial using this link here. I will not lie, the free 2-day shipping, plus all of the free music and videos are totally worth it. I also now use it for books for my Kindle Paper White too, and it is honestly a life saver. They have a program called Kindle Unlimited where you can check out 10 books at a time, read them, and put them back in the Kindle library. The program cost $7.99 a month, and you get the first 30 days for free with this link.
How do you feel about iKON repackaging their album and only adding one new song, K-Nuggets? Does it feel like a money grab to you? Let me know in the comments below!
