If my other posts on EXO did not make you aware of this already, I am quite a huge fan of EXO. They were my gateway drug into K-Pop, and I own almost every single possible thing that you can buy related to EXO. As such you will be seeing a lot more posts on EXO going forward, as I am no where near done with talking about my EXO collection. Right now, though I’m going from newest to oldest and adding the new releases in between.(If there are any albums you want a review of now, just let me know down in the comments below!)
Although there are technically two releases of this album, one in Chinese and one in Korean, I only ever purchase the Korean editions, so you will only be seeing that version below.
Things you need to know about this album:
Released on September 5th, 2017, EXO The War: Power of Music is the repackage of their 4th album, The War. Power of Music ranked #1 on the Gaon Weekly Album Charts, #2 on the Gaon Monthly Charts in 2017, and #7 on the Gaon Year End Charts. The album sold over 600,000 copies and the single from the album “Power” has 99 million views on Youtube. Additionally, “Power” achieved a perfect score of 11,000 on M Countdown – making EXO the second artist to achieve a perfect score (after the scoring system was changed in 2015). This track also marks their 100th win on music shows.

K-Points: 1,258/5
It has been a few years since I purchased this album, and quite frankly, it is still one of the absolute coolest albums in my collection. I always leave it out on display for people to see. The packaging is so well done. I always pull this album out when I’m trying to explain to the Non-K-Poppers why I buy the physical albums, and they usually just say “Okay, now I get it.” On top of that, the music on this is absolutely baller. I can listen to this album today and still jam out.
If you can only purchase one version of the EXO albums: The War (which has 3 versions) or Power of Music (one version). Go for the Power of Music. Not only is the album so cool, but it also has all of the tracks from the original ones too The only thing the original version has that this one doesn’t is more photos. But who needs those when you can look at EXO being superheroes? The other ones look nice on a shelf, sitting on next to each other, but this one deserves to be out, being displayed for all to see.
If you want to watch me fangirl, I do also post reactions on my YouTube Channel. I have posted one for EXO’s Love Shot, which you can watch below:
