If you didn’t read about my impulse purchase of the DVD we are about to talk about, you can read about it here. Today, We are talking about The EXO’rdium Live in Seoul Concert DVD which I added to my collection so I can watch EXO concerts since they rarely come to the US.
I do a lot of my album shopping on Music Plaza LA. Additionally, if you have never used Music Plaza before, this link will get you an extra 5% off of your first purchase!
You can also order a copy of the album from an eBay, as they typically have good prices. Plus, with eBay, you can save a little bit of money by using the E-Bates extension on your browser, as it will save you 2% on all album purchases, which definitely adds up.
What is E-Bates?
E-Bates is a cashback site that gives you money for purchases you may have already made. They even have an extension for multiple browsers so when you go to a website that uses Ebates, it will automatically pop up the cashback button to make sure you are saving money. I use this all the time, and I got over 80$ back from them for purchases I was going to make anyway. That’s about 3 more albums I can buy!
If you’ve never used EBates before, you can use this link to get $10 when making a qualified purchase of $25 when using EBates. You will also get whatever percent cashback is being offered from the site you are purchasing from. Sephora, typically has 4% cashback, through here. Sokoglam typically has 3%. These percentages Many other major retailers are on there as well.
As you can see this is a box set of the EXO in concert DVD, shot in Seoul, released to the public right after the Power of Music Repackage was released…. because SM wants us to blow all of our money at the exact same time! If they were nice, they would have waited, for our wallets, sake, but I guess they wanted a strong final quarter so that their sales look great.
Things you need to know about this DVD:
- There are 3 DVDs: DVD 1 is the first half of the concert, DVD 2 is the second half of the concert, and DVD 3 is the “Making of” stuff, as well as some EXO-CBX stuff.
- There are shirts being ripped off multiple times during the concert.
- There are moments when Lay and Chanyeol are playing the guitar.
- There are dance solos… but this is when Kai had his injury, so he is not dancing.
- The DVDs are in jewel CD cases (as you can see, my one is already cracked) But, there is lots of padding.
- The back cover isn’t glued on, and it’s just like taped on ( I accidentally folded it in half shortly after getting it)
- There is a massive poster that I don’t have a photo of because it is hung up in my office right now that is the exact same as the back cover of the DVD.
- There are 9 photocards: one of each member Baekhyun, Chanyeol, Chen, D.O, Kai, Lay, Sehun, Suho, & Xiumin. These are pretty good quality on good paper.
- There is also a small photo book of photos. Which is totally acceptable when you happen to own the huge one.
- There are no English subtitles on the DVD. There are only Chinese, Japanese and Korean.
- There is no region on the DVD so it can still be played in the US.
K-Crack rating: 425/5
I love the Live Concert album and photo book, and I totally freak out when watching the DVD, but this product does have a few downsides. To start the DVDs are in Jewel cases, which crack easily, one of mine was cracked when it arrived. It’s fine. I watched it anyway. I just put the un-cracked case in front. I don’t like how the back piece comes off so easily and is just taped at the top. It can rip easily. Additionally, unlike a CD which I will listen to all the time, the DVD loses it’s utility because I need to have time to sit down and watch it. Don’t get me wrong, I totally make time, but a CD a can listen to all the time. I still love the photo cards and the overall content of this DVD. It just gets deductions for packaging flaws.
Do I regret purchasing this? Absolutely not. Watching the boys dance shirtless is well worth the downsides of the packaging. If you have to pick between the live album, and this, I say go for the live album. You will get FAR more use out of that, simply due to the fact it’s a CD. Additionally, I like the packaging on the photo book better, and it will look beautiful sitting on a table in a living room or something like that.
