I have been testing this product for quite some time, and I am finally ready to share my thoughts with you after making it almost completely through the bottle. Today, I wanted to talk about the Benton Snail Bee Ultimate Serum. Benton is a brand that focuses on clean, cruelty-free formulas that are healthy for the skin. Keep reading to find out more about the ingredients in the Snail Bee Ultimate Serum, as well as my thoughts and where you can find it yourself.
Things to know about Benton Snail Bee Ultimate Serum:
This product is formulated with the following ingredients that are good for your skin:
- Snail Secretion Filtrate Ferment is a humectant and moisturizer. Additionally, research shows that it may be a pretty strong antioxidant that can help regenerate skin, although this hasn’t been fully proven scientifically.
- Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Water is a very diluted form of tea tree oil that could possess some of the same calming and soothing benefits as the essential oil, minus some of the irritation that it causes. There hasn’t been too much scientific evidence to back this, so a lot of these are assumptions at this moment.
- Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Water is an ingredient that is an incredibly well-researched antioxidant that can prevent inflammation, anti-microbial, and anticarcinogenic. It is excellent for calming down things like rosacea, acne, and dermatitis
- Niacinamide, also known as vitamin B3, is great for preventing wrinkles and reversing the signs of aging. It can also help fade brown spots, and strengthen the skin’s barrier.
- Bee Venom is another ingredient with not a lot of research, but proponents of it say that it can help increase blood flow to the skin, which stimulates collagen and elastin production to provide anti-aging benefits. None of this is proven though.
This product is formulated with the following ingredients that are “bad”* for your skin:
- There is nothing in this formula that could be irritating to the skin or cause a reaction, unless you have an express allergy to certain ingredients, like bee stings, as many people do.
K-Points: 6/10
So, for beauty reviews, unlike my album unboxings, I will be much harsher on because this can directly impact your health, where buying K-Pop albums does not. It just impacts your wallet. As such, all of my beauty reviews will be out of 10 points. I will not be going over that number.
So, overall, after trying this formula for quite some time, I think that this formula is not well suited to my skin type. I have more dry, red skin, and based on the ingredient deck, and the highlighted ingredients, I think this product would be better for those with acne-prone or oily skin. It has effective ingredients for helping calm inflamed skin, while also healing hyperpigmentation, both of which are things that I am not currently struggling with.
Another issue that I have with this serum is that the ingredients that they highlight as the superstars, Bee Venom and Snail Mucin, don’t have many proven claims. The true stars in this formula are Green Tea and Niacinamide. Both of these ingredients are well proven to have the benefits that this formula says it has, but are confirmed to actually do what they are reporting.
What are the Koreans saying?
I was digging through reviews on 화해**, a Korean skincare app that lists out the ingredients of products from many brands for people to look through as well as post reviews. They really like that Benton is cruelty-free (although that clearly doesn’t include snails, since they have to be stressed or receive salt water to make the correct filtrate). They also like that the consistency of this essence is similar to water, although it is quite sticky. The also mentioned that it is quite moisturizing.

*I put bad in quotes here because everything is subjective. Just because an ingredient that may have some amount of research on it that it can cause issues in the skin exists in a product says nothing about how it is processed and refined when making the product. It also says nothing about where that particular ingredient came from and the quality of that ingredient. It’s just like with cooking you can have all the same ingredients to start, but depending on what you do with those ingredients, you can get two completely different end products.
