Hanskin Real Complexion Hyaluron Eye Serum Review

For years I have been a fan of Hanskin products. They make absolutely lovely formulas. So, when I saw that Hanskin made the Real Complexion Hyaluron Eye Serum, I had to give it a try. Keep reading to find out what is in the product, my and the Korean’s thoughts, and where you can get this yourself.

Things to know about Hanskin Real Complexion Hyaluron Eye Serum:

Hanskin was founded in 2001 with the philosophy that clean beauty, designed for sensitive skin, can help radically improve the skin of everyone. They design their products to help their customer’s skin survive the changing of the seasons and hormone shifts. As we all know, our skin changes, so we need skincare that works with those changes. They also pride themselves on not just using great ingredients, but making you feel great when putting them on. They do their best to ensure that all of their formulas feel like an amazing experience.

This product is formulated with the following ingredients that are good for your skin:
  • Sodium Hyaluronate (In various weights) is the salt form of hyaluronic acid, a moisturizing superstar, that holds 1000 times its weight in water. In comparison to hyaluronic acid, it is much smaller, and can penetrate into deeper layers of the skin, providing more moisture than it’s acidic counterpart.
  • Chondus Crispus (Irish Moss) Extract has anti-bacterial and anti-microbal properties because it is rich in sulfur. Irish moss is also rich in calcium, vitamin A, magnesium, potassium, and much more. All of these help reduce wrinkles, hydrate the skin, and protect it.
  • Saccharum Officinarum (Sugarcane) Extract contains alphahydroxy acids (AHA), specifically glycolic and lactic acid, which help speed up cell turnover that can repair the skin. This ingredient can also help smooth the skin and protect it from sunburn.
  • Centella Asiatica Leaf Extract is an amazing calming ingredient that is commonly used for preventing inflammation and healing skin. The ingredient is rich in amino acids and beta carotene which can boost circulation and collagen production as well.
This product is formulated with the following ingredients that are “bad”* for your skin:
  • Unless you have a known allergy to any of the things in the formula, like some of the oils, there is nothing bad in this formula
Who is this product good for?
  • All skintypes

K-Points: 10/10

So, for beauty reviews, unlike my album unboxings, I will be much harsher because this can directly impact your health, where buying K-Pop albums does not. It just impacts your wallet. As such, all of my beauty reviews will be out of 10 points. I will not be going over that number.

I honestly really enjoy this eye serum. It is incredibly hydrating, keeps my eyes from getting dry, and the three steel balls are so cooling, and feel lovely on my eyes. If my eyes ever feel tired from the night before, those three steel balls make them feel a little less awful.

What are the Koreans saying?

I was digging through reviews on 화해 (Hwahae)**, a Korean skincare app that lists out the ingredients of products from many brands for people to look through as well as post reviews. Well, after digging through Hwahae, I can’t find this product anywhere in there. I did find it on Ulta though! On there, a number of people seemed to really enjoy this product because it helped their dark circles and their sunked undereyes. That being said, one person said that it really sensitized their eyes, but that’s only one review out of 55.

Where Can I Buy It?

Whenever I buy K-Beauty, I do shop at a couple of different places. If you want to see all of the places that I shop at, you can check them all out here.  I don’t remember where I purchased this, but as mentioned above, it is available on Ulta.. With Ulta, you can also use Rakuten for cash back off of your purchases on their site.

What is Rakuten?

Rakuten is a cashback site that gives you money for purchases you may have already made. They even have an extension for multiple browsers so when you go to a website that uses Rakuten, it will automatically pop up the cashback button to make sure you are saving money. I use this all the time, and I got over $80 back from them for purchases I was going to make anyway. That’s about 3 more albums I can buy!

If you’ve never used Rakuten before, you can use this link to get $10 when making a qualified purchase of $25 when using Rakuten. You will also get whatever percent cashback is being offered from the site you are purchasing from.  Sephora, typically has 4% cashback, through here. Ulta typically has 3%. These are just some of the companies on the website, but there are other major retailers on there as well!

Rakuten also has a Google Chrome extension that will tell you as soon as you log onto a site that has cashback with a little pop-up in the corner so that you can ensure you are saving money!

What eye cream do you really enjoy, K-Nuggets? Let me know in the comments down below!

*I put bad in quotes here because everything is subjective. Just because an ingredient that may have some amount of research on it that it can cause issues in the skin exists in a product says nothing about how it is processed and refined when making the product. It also says nothing about where that particular ingredient came from and the quality of that ingredient. It’s just like with cooking you can have all the same ingredients to start, but depending on what you do with those ingredients, you can get two completely different end products. Liah Yoo, Youtuber and now the owner of the brand Krave Beauty, made an excellent video talking about this. You can watch that here.

**Note: 화해 still only exists in Korean, but some of the products can be searched for in English.
