CosRx Triple C Lightning Liquid Review

cosrx triple c lightning liquid

You all know how much I love K-Beauty. To be honest, it has definitely changed my life. As someone who is very insecure about their skin, I am always looking for things that will help. The CosRx Triple C Lightning Liquid is one of the little skin helpers that has made its way onto my list. Created in a collaboration between the founder of Sokoglam, Charlotte Cho, and CosRx, the Triple C Lightning liquid is a high concentration Vitamin C serum.

When I purchases this product, I typically buy it directly off of Sokoglam. There it can be purchased for $27, using this link. If you have never purchased off of Sokoglam before, you can use this link to get 20% off of your first purchase. This will take the cost of the serum down to $21.60.

Things to know about the CosRx Triple C Lightning Liquid:

  • This product contains 20.5% vitamin C, and 72% chokeberry which stabilizes the Vitamin C.
  • Vitamin C is good for:
    • Fighting pigmentation
    • Getting rid of acne scars
    • Bringing radiance to the skin
  • Since the Vitamin C in this product is ascorbic acid, it has a very low pH level of 3.
  • Since this was the 1 year anniversary of the serum, the bottle you see above is the special edition one. Normally, it is black
  • The serum is very thin, and you only need 1-2 drops to cover your entire face.
  • CosRx recommends that you use this product as part of your nighttime routine, since it will make your skin sensitve. I currently use it morning and night, but I may drop it down to just nights.
  • How to use this serum:
    • If you are not used to acids, mix 2-3 drops with a moisturizer for 2-3 weeks
    •  Use 1-2 drops on your face at night if you already use acids
    • Please make sure to use sunblock when using this product
  • Since it is an acid, it will take your skin a few weeks to adjust, and there will most likely be a purge period. If you do not purge, you are very lucky, and I envy you. Once  the purge phase ends, your skin will look amazing, and you will get far less acne.

K-Points: 545/5

So, I tried this product in the fall, before I was thrown on my new medication, and back then, I thought that it wasn’t working. I was wrong, as after I stopped using it, my skin tone become more uneven. After I stopped using it last fall, I waited until the spring to add it back into my routine, after my medication had time to kick in. Once I added it back in, after about 48 hours, I noticed the redness of my skin disappearing, as well as my acne scars. I did get a few new breakouts while my skin adjusted, but once that was done, my skin looked so much better!

Should you buy this product? Absolutely. If you want your skin to look brighter, it is 100% worth it. This product is might not be good for sensitive skin though. If you do want to try it, I recommend following the directions about mixing it with a moisturizer to give your skin time to adjust above. If it doesn’t work, try for a Vitamin C serum with a lower concentration. It will cause less irritation. Either way, this product is a game changer.
