I know, I’m still working on catching back up to modern-day, but I’m getting there! I’m up to August 2019, which is pretty good! Today we are going to be talking about the BTS World Soundtrack that was released last year with the app. I know that there were a lot of mixed reviews about the app itself, as a lot of people didn’t like it, but that didn’t stop me from buying the OST.
I do also post reactions over on my YouTube Channel. This album didn’t have a single, but I have posted one for ON, which you can watch below:
Since this post is actually an unboxing of the album, let’s actually talk about that. I picked up my copy of this album Music Plaza LA. You can get a copy here for $19.99, plus shipping. Additionally, if you have never used Music Plaza before, this link will get you an extra 5% off of your first purchase!
You can also order a copy of the album from an eBay, as they typically have good prices. This link will get you a copy for $38.98, plus free shipping. Plus, with eBay, you can save a little bit of money by using the E-Bates extension on your browser, as it will save you 2% on all album purchases, which definitely adds up.
What is E-Bates?
E-Bates is a cashback site that gives you money for purchases you may have already made. They even have an extension for multiple browsers so when you go to a website that uses Ebates, it will automatically pop up the cashback button to make sure you are saving money. I use this all the time, and I got over 80$ back from them for purchases I was going to make anyway. That’s about 3 more albums I can buy!
If you’ve never used EBates before, you can use this link to get $10 when making a qualified purchase of $25 when using EBates. You will also get whatever percent cashback is being offered from the site you are purchasing from. Sephora, typically has 4% cashback, through here. Sokoglam typically has 3%. These percentages Many other major retailers are on there as well.
Can I get it on Amazon?
Yes! You can pick up a copy using this link for $20.08, with free shipping if you have Amazon Prime.
If you don’t have Amazon Prime, you can get a 30-day free trial using this link here. I will not lie, the free 2-day shipping, plus all of the free music and videos are totally worth it. I also now use it for books for my Kindle Paper White too, and it is honestly a life saver. They have a program called Kindle Unlimited where you can check out 10 books at a time, read them, and put them back in the Kindle library. The program cost $7.99 a month, and you get the first 30 days for free with this link.
Things to know about the BTS World Soundtrack Album:
- There is only 1 version of this album.
- Things that come with the album:
- CD
- Photobook (88 pages)
- Double-sided Photocard (1 of 7)
- Game Coupon
- Lenticular Photocard
- Poster (if you wanted one. I didn’t, as I don’t have space for them)
- The CD is held on with one of the foam circles, which I do like as I feel like the CD doesn’t fall off easily
- The photoshoot for this album feels very similar to that for their collaboration with MediHeal.
K-Points: 14/5
Okay, ARMYs, do not kill me for this, but in comparison to basically all other BTS album packaging, this one is quite weak and feels quite a bit like a money grab by BigHit, since they know that people will buy it no matter what. The quality of the packaging also wasn’t on par in my opinion with a number of their other releases. It didn’t feel as sturdy to me. I will also mention this album is very much an OST, so it is just all of the background music from the app. Only 4 tracks have their voices. That being said, the OST itself is actually pretty good, just not enough to make up for the packaging for me, since it feels so basic and not as good of quality in comparison.
So should you get yourself a copy of this album? I personally think it would be better to save your money for a full BTS album unless you want to support the boys no matter what. Should you stream it? I definitely recommend giving it a listen, as there is a collab with Charlie XCX, Zara Larsson and Juice WRLD.
What did you all think of BTS’s collabs with western artists? Which ones are your favorites, K-Nuggets? Let me know in the comments below!
