As we move deeper and deeper into the winter months, my skin craves moisture more and more. During this time of year, as a result moisture serums begin to enter my rotation more and more. The first one on the slate for this winter is the Torriden Dive-in Low Molecule Hyaluronic Acid Serum, which I just finished. Keep reading to find out what is in the formula, my thoughts, the Koreans’ thoughts, and where you may pick up this product yourself.
Things to know about Torriden Dive-in Low Molecule Hyaluronic Acid Serum:
Torriden is a brand that advocates itself as being a “guiding star” on your skincare journey. They always do their best to give their consumers, good, clean products and allow your skin to find what it does and doesn’t like through it’s clean, simple formulas.
This product is formulated with the following ingredients that are good for your skin:
- Panthenol is rich in antioxidants that will help repair and rejuvenate collagen. Additionally, it is incredibly moisturizing and research shows that it has anti-bacterial properties.
- Hyaluronic Acid (in 5 different molecular weights) is a moisturizing superstar, that holds 1000 times its weight in water. In comparison to hyaluronic acid, it is much smaller, and can penetrate into deeper layers of the skin, providing more moisture than its acidic counterpart.
- Allantoin is a moisturizer and exfoliant. If you are known to have dry and itchy skin, this ingredient is perfect for you. This ingredient can also help heal injured skin as it is an ingredient that is found in chamomile and beets.
- Madecassoside is one of the main compounds in Centella Asiatica. Centella Asiatica is an ingredient that is known for its wound healing properties. Additionally, it has been known to help with the appearance of scars, and (although the sample size is small) may help with wrinkles too!
This product is formulated with the following ingredients that are “bad”* for your skin:
- After looking through the ingredients, there is nothing in this formula that could cause an allergic reaction.
- I will note though that if overused, Hyaluronic Acid can dry your skin out, so if using this formula, please be cautious of how many other of your products have Hyaluronic Acid (also commonly seen as Sodium Hyaluronate) in the formula
Who is this product good for?
- Those with dry skin
- Those with dehydrated skin
- This could also work with those who have overly oily skin, as many times that is caused by lack of hydration, so the skin overproduces oils
K-Points: 8/10
So, for beauty reviews, unlike my album unboxings, I will be much harsher on because this can directly impact your health, where buying K-Pop albums does not. It just impacts your wallet. As such, all of my beauty reviews will be out of 10 points. I will not be going over that number.
Overall, I really like this product. Moving into winter, it definitely help my skin get some of the hydration it needed. Additionally, this formula is not crazy thick or sticky. And, the formula is free of all of the common skin irritants, making it the perfect product for many skin types who want moisture without irritation. That being said, although I enjoyed this formula, I don’t think it was hydrating enough for what I need this time of year. That being said, it is the perfect serum for those with dehydrated skin or those with overly oily skin.
What are the Koreans saying?
I was digging through reviews on 화해 (Hwahae)**, a Korean skincare app that lists out the ingredients of products from many brands for people to look through as well as post reviews. For this serum, out of 28,166 reviews, this product boast 4.51 stars out of 5. In their reviews, many of the Koreans noted how this product actually helped calm their acne spots as well as prevent them from reappearing. additionally, they all commented on how this product helped them have a really healthy glow.
Where Can I Buy It?
Whenever I buy K-Beauty, I do shop at a couple of different places. If you want to see all of the places that I shop at, you can check them all out here. I don’t remember where I bought this product, but it was either Style Korean or Olive Young. I also get K-Beauty from Ulta. Plus, with Ulta, you can also use Rakuten for cash back off of your purchases on their site.
What is Rakuten?
Rakuten is a cashback site that gives you money for purchases you may have already made. They even have an extension for multiple browsers so when you go to a website that uses Rakuten, it will automatically pop up the cashback button to make sure you are saving money. I use this all the time, and I got over $80 back from them for purchases I was going to make anyway. That’s about 3 more albums I can buy!
If you’ve never used Rakuten before, you can use this link to get $10 when making a qualified purchase of $25 when using Rakuten. You will also get whatever percent cashback is being offered from the site you are purchasing from. Sephora, typically has 4% cashback, through here. Ulta typically has 3%. These are just some of the companies on the website, but there are other major retailers on there as well!
Rakuten also has a Google Chrome extension that will tell you as soon as you log onto a site that has cashback with a little pop-up in the corner so that you can ensure you are saving money!

*I put bad in quotes here because everything is subjective. Just because an ingredient that may have some amount of research on it that it can cause issues in the skin exists in a product says nothing about how it is processed and refined when making the product. It also says nothing about where that particular ingredient came from and the quality of that ingredient. It’s just like with cooking you can have all the same ingredients to start, but depending on what you do with those ingredients, you can get two completely different end products. Liah Yoo, a YouTuber and now the owner of the brand Krave Beauty, made an excellent video talking about this.
**Note: 화해 still only exists in Korean, but some of the products can be searched for in English.
