K-Goods: EXO Version 2 Lightstick Review

exo lightstick

You may have noticed by now that I have quite a few light sticks in my possession. I have a bit of a fear of the dark, which is why I have so many…. I’m just kidding. I’m not afraid of the dark anymore. I just like shiny things. These shiny things have to include the EXO lightstick. They are my original bias group, and they are what initially got me into K-Pop. Once I found their lightstick in stock online, it was only natural that I got it for myself.

As EXO has announced that they are coming back in the beginning of August, I will point out, this post will probably be one of many EXO posts that you will see coming out in the very near future. This is out of sheer EXO-L excitement. If you would like to read all EXO Posts to date, you can read those here.

Things to know about the EXO Version 2 Lightstick:

  • It’s shaped like a box, with the EXO logo all big on it.
  • It takes 3 AAA batteries
  • You can also swap out the white part of the lightstick for the silver bottom. I will note, there is only one strap though, so you would have to switch that over too
  • The battery part isn’t your typical screw on it has this complicated latch system so the bottom won’t fall off.
  • It comes with a silicone strap, with the letters  EXO on it
  • The button to turn it on also says EXO
  • The EXO in white under the front cover doesn’t glow in the dark like I was hoping it would. I will also note that I looked like an idiot holding my face up to a box in the office while doing that
  • The EXO Lightstick has 4 different settings:
    • On
    • Slow blink
    • Fast blink
    • Epilepsy setting
  • The lightstick also comes with the following in the tiny envelope:
    • stickers one for each member, and one that just says EXO
    • Group photo card
    • Warranty card
  • This lightstick is also Bluetooth enabled to go in sync with the music at their concert (the app is only in Korean, just an FYI I did find English instructions though)

K-Points: 981/5

Okay, this might be because EXO is the K-Pop group that started it all for me (I wrote about that here) , but I kinda love this lightstick. The design is cool, and it is definitely up there with the Wanna One or SUJU one. The lightstick even changes in time with the concert! I’ll be honest, this is key. It’s that one extra thing that takes a meh lightstick into being a wow one!

Should you buy this? Only if you are a seriously big EXO fan and plan on seeing them in concert. It is pricey, and if you aren’t a massive fan and probably won’t see them in concert, you definitely don’t need this. If you are like me though, and are a fan of EXO, it’s totally worth having… Even if it is just to scare away the monsters under the bed!

Where Can I Buy It?

You can get this lightstick at the following places:

If you want to see where I get almost all of the products I buy, you can see that here.

What is Rakuten?

Rakuten is a cashback site that gives you money for purchases you may have already made. They even have an extension for multiple browsers so when you go to a website that uses Rakuten, it will automatically pop up the cashback button to make sure you are saving money. I use this all the time, and I got over $80 back from them for purchases I was going to make anyway. That’s about 3 more albums I can buy!

If you’ve never used Rakuten before, you can use this link to get $10 when making a qualified purchase of $25 when using Rakuten. You will also get whatever percent cashback is being offered from the site you are purchasing from.  Sephora, typically has 4% cashback, through here. Ulta typically has 3%. These are just some of the companies on the website, but there are other major retailers on there as well!

Rakuten also has a Google Chrome extension that will tell you as soon as you log onto a site that has cashback with a little pop-up in the corner so that you can ensure you are saving money!
