BTOB Hour Moment Review

BTOB Hour Moment

This is the first time you are hearing about this group on my site! Why? I have no idea whatsoever. I really like BTOB, but for some crazy reason, they hadn’t made their way onto The K-Pop Hero until now. The over 10-month absence of BTOB on my site will be remedied right now. Today, I will end that 10-month dry spell, and be writing my thoughts on BTOB Hour Moment for all of you.

I bought my copy of this album from K-Pop Store in USA on E-Bay. You can get it there for 23.99$. You can also get a copy of this album off of Amazon for about the same price on Amazon here. This item also has free shipping for Prime Members.

If you don’t have Amazon Prime, you can get a 30-day free trial using this link here. I will not lie, the free 2-day shipping, plus all of the free music and videos are totally worth it. I also now use it for books for my Kindle Paperwhite too, and it is honestly a life saver. They have a program called Kindle Unlimited where you can check out 10 books at a time, read them, and put them back in the Kindle library. The program cost $7.99 a month, and you get the first 30 days for free with this link.

If you do decide to get a copy of the album off of E-Bay like me, there is a program called E-bates where you can get 2% cashback on basically all album purchases.

What is E-Bates?

E-Bates is a cashback site that gives you money for purchases you may have already made. They even have an extension for multiple browsers so when you go to a website that uses Ebates, it will automatically pop up the cashback button to make sure you are saving money. I use this all the time, and I got over 80$ back from them for purchases I was going to make anyways. That’s about 3 more albums I can buy!

If you’ve never used EBates before, you can use this link to get $10 when making a qualified purchase of $25 when using EBates. You will also get whatever percent cashback is being offered from the site you are purchasing from.  Sephora, typically has 4% cashback, through here. Sokoglam typically has 3%. These percentages Many other major retailers are on there as well.

For the purposes of reading the remainder of this post, I recommend that you put the album on in the background, and read through it while listening to the track that I am talking about. This is what I recommend for all of my song reviews.

BTOB Hour Moment Track By Track:

Friend

Starting off the album with a mid tempo track! I like it. We’ve got a nice simple piano with an easy guitar. I love how when the vocals pop in they have a super manly, strong sound to them. This is then contrasted by the gorgeous falsetto (any of you super fans will have to tell me who does that gorgeous falsetto). Favorite part of this track? The clapping in the chorus and the fantastic base line. I also love how they wrote a song just about being good friends. I feel like we don’t get enough tracks about that. It’s a nice change from all of the love songs we hear. Celebrate friendship people!

Like It

Wait, are we getting a full album of ballads? Please say yes. BTOB really excels at doing slower tempo songs because they have such strong vocals. Am I embracing this? 100% Not only have they given us a track all about friendship, but they’ve also given us a track that has a bit of an R&B, smooth flare to it. Quite frankly, I am a fan, especially of Peniel’s rap in the second verse. This track has me doing body rolls while listening to it. I’m all like:

Big fan, y’all. I can dig it.

나비 (Butterfly)

Okay, nothing gets me more than a fantastic intro on an acoustic guitar. In this track, you can even hear how he slides against the frets. Don’t get me started on how musically happy that makes me. Then, they caress my ears even more with the beautiful harmonies they add during the chorus. This track is gorgeously simple, and there is something to be said for that in today’s era. Huge fan of this. I really could play this song on repeat and use it to fall asleep at night. H

제발 (Climax)

Strings and Piano with some electric guitar! The style of this track sounds like it is an over the top musical style ballad, which I totally love. I have spent so much time on the stage myself that I love hearing others pull it off. Even with the rapping, this track has that dramatic factor. They fantastically use the music, especially at the end of the chorus, to display the desperation that they want you to hear. I love how he chokes out the word “제발”. It is gorgeous and emotionally loaded.

아름답고 도 아프구나 (Beautiful Pain)

So, I already  reacted to the music video for this song. You can watch it here:

I will not lie, I’m completely in love with this track and how they use their voices to evoke so much emotion. As I mention at the end of the video, that is hard for a lot of singers to get right, and they do such a good job that I feel what they are feeling. They really have that vocal flair.

K-Points: 671/5

Even though BTOB did an album of all songs with lower BPM (beats per minute) they managed to make all of them sound different. They all expressed emotion with their voices so well by using dynamics, vocal slides, and accenting specific words that you cannot help but love it. Ballads are hard, and they give me all the feels, which is what I love to hear because music is about making someone feel. BTOB Hour Moment got me wandering around the house singing ballads, which means even more if you know me personally. I’m quite a sentimental sap.

Should you get a copy of this album? I personally think for the quality of the songs it is definitely worth it. Can you just stream it? Absolutely. It is only a mini-album with 5 songs on it, so if you would rather spend the money on an album with more tracks, that is totally fair.
